By Lemigasa from Ithaca, NY on 07/16/2008 Pros: Comes with rain cover, Durable Best Uses: Camping, Day-hikes, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love Lowe Alpine packs (this is my 4th one!) because of their colors, well-planned pockets, included rain-covers, etc. This bag is the perfect size for a day-hike for two (or a hike in colder weather when you need to bring a sweatshirt). The one complaint I have about this bag is that the shoulder straps and hip-belt seem much more flimsy than with other Lowe Alpine bags. It's not a big deal since you likely won't be carrying heavy loads in the pack, but the shoulder straps do feel like they dig in a little more than they should.
By Curlyhikinggirl from Hood Rive, OR on 07/15/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Nice colors - cute, Strong Zippers Cons: Too much for a day hike Best Uses: In-betweener, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is an in-between pack. Too much for a short hike, not enough for a overnight trip. Great value for the quality pack that it is and I have had great experience with my big Lowe Alpine backpack. For me... I don't have the use for this much of a day pack although I am tempted to keep it because it is so cute and well-made. I could picture someone using this that needs to bring a lot of "just in case gear" on a long day trek.
By waiting for a real backpack from Aurora, CO on 07/13/2008 Cons: Difficult to Pack, Poor design Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for weekend backpacking trips and literally could not fit my very small sleeping bag into it. The large compartment is small because of the internal frame. The opening is smaller than the inside. Sad. It should be labeled day pack rather than back pack.
