By Gayle's Husband from Dallas, TX on 04/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Highly Adjustable Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my wife (5'6") and it fits well. She uses it for camping and for lugging her soccer gear with her to work. She loves the fact that it's not a girlie color, and she loves the fit and capacity.
great pack at just the right size By Outdoor lover from Tucson, AZ on 03/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good padding, Large capacity Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only problem is that it is hard to pack the bag to full capacity. Based on where the zipper is, there is a pocket type area on the top back that is hard to get items into. Other than that I love it, great size, lots of pockets, holds a bladder. It is great for taking to work or going on a day hike.

Very nice backpack.
By Bike to Work from Bolton, CT on 02/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good padding, Large capacity Best Uses: Backpacking, Bike Commuting, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my first woman-specific pack, and I must say that the waist belt is the most comfortable one that I've ever had on a pack!!! Shoulder straps are long enough to get on over very bulky coat before cinching down for a good fit (this has been a problem with other packs). I wear a motorcycle jacket with huge padded shoulders in the winter. Great capacity to bring everything I need to work (files, purse, lunch, books, etc) while I commute on my bike. I like the side pockets for organization of smaller gear. Hydration compatible is a real plus. Now, if Kelty offered a rain cover, it would be darn near perfect! Images shared by: Bike to Work
Excellent for "carry-on only" travel By Comfort gal from Sydney on 12/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for a "carry-one only" trip to Europe. It is larger in depth than most international airlines allow, but the compression straps work well to bring it down to the correct size. I removed the aluminum frame to reduce weight, and the pack was still comfortable. This bag is a bargain.
By Jenn from Mansfield, PA on 10/23/2008 Pros: Good padding, Large capacity, Very adjustable Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a full time student, so in addition to using this pack for hiking and biking, I also use it to carry books everyday. The suspension on this pack is excellent, great for carrying heavy loads. Lots of little pockets, so storing stuff is a breeze. The fact that it's hydration ready is also a great plus! My only complaint is that it's bigger than expected...not so much a day pack, but great for weekend trips. Plus, I'm pretty short (5'5), so it's slightly big for me.
The best day pack I have ever owned! By Day Hiker from Anchorage, Alaska on 08/19/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Excellent organization, Good Back Support, Good Padding Best Uses: Airline Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Short Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is amazing. The biggest asset is its padded hip belt. The belt is adjustable to fit your frame and offers great support as well as cushion. The chest belt helps to balance the pack and reduce the weight on your hips. I put everything I could fit into the pack -- water, binoculars, fleece and shell, fruit, bird book, etc. and I didn't feel any weight on my back!
This pack also has many small interior pockets, which are great for school or for organizing hiking gear. I bought it because it was the largest day pack I could find for a reasonable price and did not sacrifice any essential features such as external water bottle holders, dual compartments, and a padded hip belt. I had no idea that this pack would be the best I have ever owned. It is the best I have seen, and I have seen many during my years in Utah and then Alaska. The design and organization are top notch. I highly recommend this pack!

By gearhead from grand rapids, MI on 08/04/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Best Uses: Airline Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't gotten the chance to use this pack a ton, but I bike to/from work with it (~20 miles) and I've taken it for a weekend hike as well as a single use at the gym.
It fits really well, but if you are any taller, you might have problems (5'8" +). It has an even weight distribution, so while biking/hiking my shoulders or back never feel strained. It's extremely roomy and alot of nice storage pockets.
The downside is it is a bit bulky - definitely not the kind you can just throw over your shoulder and go with ... but then again, you wouldn't buy a bag that is 2000+ cu. inches to do that with.
Overall, it's a fantastic value for a weekend hiking trip (even a weeklong, if you brought the bare minimum) or for use in biking/rollerblading/basically any sport you need a pack to carry your necessities. I LOVE it! :)
