By Myllil from North Idaho on 10/31/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Fulltime winter coat Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first real winter parka! Very pleased with the coat. Glad I went with medium, I'm a small for almost everything, but with coats I like to have room. I studied all the reviews on this coat, hesitated when saw the long sleeves con remarks, I do find them to be slightly long but this helps with the great range of motion in the shoulders and back - something I've never felt in a coat before. No tugging or restriction anywhere.I could wear this coat in Yoga class! No problem with the hips for my body type - narrow. Took me a few minutes to understand all the pulls, interior skirt may not be necessary for me. Excellent construction and zippers etc.

By Anne from Chicago, IL on 03/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Mountain Hardware is cut perfectly for tall women. I have a devil of a time finding jackets and this is the first women's technical jacket I have kept. While others may complain about the long sleeves, I am in heaven. The pit zips are well-designed, no mesh to get caught in the zipper. Waterproofing is very good - I've worn it in rain/snow/sleet while skiing. The hood has a great cinch - those who say it is too big haven't tried the cinch yet - and gives you good sightlines and visor.

Quality Jacket, Too roomy By Winter in Vermont from Vermont on 02/12/2009 Pros: Durable, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am 5'10" so the length of the coat in the body and the arms was great. However, it was a bit too big even after I put a sweater under it. The hand pockets had thin, fleece lining which would be great in cold weather. There were also several functional interior/exterior pockets which seemed very useful. The fleece lining made for a nice warm coat. On the same hand, I wanted versatility with the coat in terms of using a shell in the fall or spring and since the fleece is not removable it would be too hot for any other season but winter. All in all--it was a well-made jacket. The blue/brown color is much lighter in person.

For a layering type sport the jacket feels a little snug. But the quality is excellent!!!

Isn't as warm as I would have hoped but it's still good. Breathable and can fit a sweatshirt underneath it. The soft pockets are amazing for cold days.
