By Mr. Cong from East Orange, N.J. on 09/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased this jacket for my oldest son to wear during our frequent Northeast rains this summer, and the jacket did as it was advertised. In addition, though casual, it stood well above jackets from other makers interms of quality, performance, and looks.
This will not be my last Lowe Alpine purchase.
By Tim-in-NC from Raleigh, NC on 09/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice jacket but maybe a bit bulky and heavy for summer use. The total package (jacket and removeable skirt and hood) weighs (size small on my scale) 24.8 oz; the skirt weighs 2.2 oz and the hood weighs 3.8 oz. So the jacket still weighs 18.8 oz without the hood and skirt. Pit zips are on the tricep area of the sleeve; small pocket is on left wrist; also an interior pocket and two front pockets. Neck area is a softer material. Not a fan of the removeable hood (hangs very bulky on shoulders if not wearing it). Overall it seems more designed for snow/winter use. Don't know about the breathability of Triplepoint but it seems very waterproof.
By High School boy scout from northeastern MA on 07/14/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket serves the purpose and looks great overall. Outside pockets open to the front instead of the side, so a bit awkward for putting hands in but not huge. Not a lot of interior storage pockets. Hood flaps that close in front of neck are a bit wide. Still, good deal for the price I paid.
By USMA 74 from Cincinnati OH on 06/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wanted a light rain jacket vs. heavier North Face Denali I wear in winter. This fits the bill.
Excellent Value and QUality By HPRET from Vancouver on 04/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice Jacket... I note that the Zipper Pull is opposite normal men's gender jackets. No big deal however.

By thoffnagle from Oregon on 03/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Not long enough, Zipper is on wrong side Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: it's ok but does feel small for it's size. It's awkward that the pull tab part of the zipper is on the left, instead of the right side (maybe that's why it's being sold by sierra Trading Post). It's also shorter than I expected - the snow skirt will hep but not do the entire job. Lastly, it says that it has a pocket for your ski pass but I haven't been able to find that.
Full features jacket at a great price By Nan from Ithaca on 02/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket during STP sale and it is a very good deal considering the quality and features of the jacket.
By Shin U from Fukuoka,Japan on 01/30/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Windproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like it with a very clean color.
Because the adjustment of the sleeve is possible, it is very convenient. In addition, comfort is very good because tape puts it on the seam, and a chill does not enter.
Good Also for Large Women! By Sara from Jackson Heights, NY on 01/28/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Not very warm in winter Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Also fits large-size women, who may have trouble finding women's jackets in 2X sizes. I had hoped for a jacket with a zip-out lining for added warmth in winter, but this can be solved by wearing warm, protective undergarments with it. Its greatest feature is protection from wet weather.
