great jacket, but zipper on wrong side By anonymous from northwest on 04/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ordered this for my husband who needed a lightweight, packable shell that didn't look overly sporty or flashy. He loved the fit and quality of the jacket as well as the color - but the zipper was a dealbreaker. The jacket zips on the left side and all his other coats zips or button on the right - too bad, is a great jacket.
Good jacket for around town. By anguilla from white plains, ny on 04/04/2009 Best Uses: Zipper on opposite side Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the jacket. Just what I expected. Good for wearing around town on rainy days or taking to the ballpark in case it rains. Full length, comes down fully over hips. Collar has a light fleece covering, which is comfortable. Comfortably get a light fleece under it. Lots of attention to detail, well constructed. The only negative is that the zipper is on the opposite side it normally is, takes a few minutes to get used to, but after that OK
By frm from Yorkshire UK on 03/19/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Extra pocket always helps Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a fabulous jacket at any price, for this price it is unbelievable value. Now I know why some people have several. I have quite a 'collection' of jackets, all of which are great; this may well be my favourite, but I always like an extra inside pocket (for load distribution). My first Lowe Alpine product, certainly not the last.

A Lot of Jacket for the Bucks By Nip in Noank from Mystic, CT on 03/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a dark colored hip length parka that could double for outdoor wear and over a sport coat when on a trip that included country and city time. This jacket is exactly what I wanted. Black was not available, so checked out both Dark Navy and Liquorice (Dark Brown), with Liquorice being a slightly off-beat, but nice selection.

I'm very tall so men's sizes work best for me, and I always get jackets big enough to layer clothes under. It's the only way to travel. This jacket is packable, lightweight and waterproof - just what the doctor ordered for worldwide adventurous travel!
By JR from Northern CA on 02/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am using this jacket to wear over my regular motorcycle jacket when the temp drops below 40 degrees - the difference is unbelievable. And yes, it is great as a rain jacket too.
By Agamemnon from Adirondack Native on 02/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Strange Collar Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Definitely will keep you dry. Tested the Deluge in a real day-long deluge and didn't get wet. You can zip in a fleece liner for those chilly days(if you buy one). When the hood is rolled up, the very stiff brim makes the collar stick out if you don't zip all the way up, and the collar opening is huge. If the hood is up, it all makes sense though. You don't have the front of the collar choking you out when you have layers underneath. If you don't want the hood on a windy dry day, wear a turtleneck to protect your neck from the wind. Very well made jacket, as are most Lowe's Alpine products. Couldn't find a loose thread anywhere. Might be a little heavy for steamy summertime wear. All-in-all a solid offering from a great company.
