This is a great casual jacket and warm with suitable layers.
By HEM from VT on 06/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice jacket, but cut for athletic fit. Chest and shoulders fit fine, but sleeves were way too long and waist was too tight. I bought a 2XL and have a 44 inch waist.
Lightweight and great functioning jacket By Stryquer from Gainesville, Florida on 05/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great lightweight waterproof jacket. Looks nice, packs easy, feels very durable, and has a hood that can be zipped off, which I really like. Pockets are a bit high if you like to have your hands in your pockets all the time, but if not, its better for putting stuff into them.
By Dr. J. from Farmington, NM on 02/03/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Windproof Cons: Too snug to layer under Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted to use this as a ski shell, but it is cut very snugly, especially in the chest, and was not possible to wear a heavy fleece layer under it, which is necessary since it has no insulation. I expected a soft shell, something with some flex to it, and this is a non-flexible shell. Seems well made, probably a very good raincoat. Zipper is on the wrong side, which feels strange. Hood seems complicated.
By Shaggy from Flagstaff AZ on 01/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a shell and not insulated what so ever. It will keep you dry but maybe not warm. That being said, it is very light wieght and a good choice for packing. The material is tough and I feel good about it not ripping in two when ice climbing. Plenty of room for a helmet under the hood and good atheltic cut. I'm 6 foot 165 pds and got the large which fits well and leaves me room to layer underneath it.
By nathan from Nashville, Tn on 01/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great jacket - only thing is it has a left hand zipper that they didn't warn me about.
By Simsey from Switzerland on 01/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Sealed zippers, hood and build quality are very good and its also a great looking! I wear it running and skiing where it keeps me completely dry. I really like the features too-inside 'goggle pocket' underarm zippers and large hand pockets are great. It is large fitting. I ordered the medium which is sized as 38-40inch chest. For reference I am 5'9" 155lbs and a 40inch chest and the Medium's a bit big for me with sleeve length slightly too long. The large size is ok when skiing because I wear it over a warm softshell jacket so the big size is less of a problem but when running and wearing it over a tshirt it feels a little big.
Overall, it does its job of keeping you dry and comfortable and I'm very happy with it!
Nice, but not quite right. By joel from wv on 01/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was excited to get this but after wearing it once I realize that the pockets are way too high up to put your hands in and that the zipper is on the wrong (left) side. I haven't tested its waterproofness etc, but you can't put your hands in the pockets comfortably.
