By Even Steven from Boone, NC on 12/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First off I am very picky with my outerwear. It has to be functional, technical, and flat out just look good. This jacket from Lowe Alpine does all three and more! Great fit (now if you are kinda chuncky in the middle it will fit tight, maybe too tight). I am 6', 200 lbs and the fit is spot on with plenty of room to layer. Bottom line, this is a great jacket, especially at the discounted price [...].
By weekend warrior from Terra Linda, CA on 12/16/2008 Cons: Inadequate Protection Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Jacket was advertised under ski and snowboarding jacket. Definitely not for colder temps. This is just a barrier for wet conditions and wind. It is just a shell. Very disappointing.
By CPT Marvel from Cape Girardeau, MO on 08/22/2008 Pros: Athletic cut, Breathable, Hood construction, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you need a waterproof, athletically cut jacket the Lowe Alpine Cliff is the way to go. The Triplepoint, seam-taped construction makes this jacket impervious to rain and snow. If you have an athletic build this jacket is great! If you decided to get into shape, but the shape you decided on was a pear, the Cliff might not be right for you. When laying flat the large jacket has an across-the-chest measurement of 24.5". The waist measurement is 22" and the bottom hem measurement is 23". The hood is superbly constructed and can be adjusted to fit any size helmet or head, while still providing an excellent field of vision. The only drawback is the core venting. Rather than pit zips Lowe Alpine put an 8" zip on the upper rear portion of each sleeve. I don't generate a lot of body heat along my tricep muscles, so the Cliff's venting zips are less than ideal. If Lowe Alpine had incorporated pit zips rather than sleeve zips this jacket would be perfect. As it is, however, it's still an outstanding jacket.

It fits upper body great. It is lean in the waist, especially if you are a bit chunky in the middle. There is not too much room for layering.
