By [@] from Oregon on 10/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My girlfriend uses this product everyday on the bike ride to work/school (she's sitting beside me as I type). We live in Oregon and in the winter it rains OFTEN! Its perfect as a layer under a shell, its form fitting, water resistent, windproof, durable, comfortable, and stylish. The zipper and seams are well-crafted, pockets are convenient, and overall great for hiking, biking, climbing, or whatever your outdoor pursuit. I myself have had a Mammut Windstopper for 5+ years and it's still going string-- which is why I bought this one for her. You won't regret this purchase, But do know that these jackets are form fitting. If you want something loose, look elsewhere. But the form fit is perfect to make this jacket a layer, or wear it on its own.
By Boom6280 from Colorado on 08/23/2009 Cons: Poor Fit, Ugly color Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice jacket but I really didn't like the color.
Comfortable and light windstopper By Angela from Switzerland on 04/09/2009 Best Uses: Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear small and the only reason I bought a medium was that it was the only size left. But the medium is equivalent to a small so I recommend you buy on size up.
By Hiking fan from Frederick, MD on 04/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading the other reviews of this jacket, I ordered a size large. I'm glad I did. I could wear a medium, but the large fits over a mid-weight sweater or a fleece without feeling tight, and I can wear it over a teeshirt without it looking too big. This jacket does block wind well, but isn't lined, so if you are looking for something for winter wear this isn't a good choice. I have worn it hiking, walking and standing in the dog park in 45-60 degree weather and crazy (for early April in Maryland) winds and have been comfortable. The sleeves are extra long with thumb holes and are very fitted along the forearm and at the wrist. The pit zips are super long and easy to adjust. The pockets are huge, and the zippers are easy to use even with gloves on. The look of this jacket is definitely on the sporty and outdoorsy side. Worth the price eventhough at first glance it seems thin.
Great Jacket. Shell Only. By Runs with Pup from Seattle, WA on 04/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Windstopper Cons: Not remotely insulating Best Uses: Casual Wear, Fair breezy weather, Under layer Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great product, but it's more of a fair weather, windy day shell. It does seem to provide protection from windchill, but it's quite light and does not provide warmth. The sizing is pretty trim and though I'm of a slender build, I went a size higher for a more comfortable fit that would allow me to wear a long-sleeve shirt underneath without bunching. I spend a lot of time at the beach with my dog, so this has been a worthwhile product for me, but I would not have purchased it at a higher price.
By Photogal from Wisconsin on 03/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This runs quite small, I usually wear medium, and the large was snugish. The color and construction are great, I can tell I will wear this all the time!
"Best Jacket I have ever owned!" By Hill Strider from Santa Fe, NM on 02/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for my wife & she almost wears it to bed she loves it so much. She's not a big excerciser, but it works for her on many levels from around the house to a windbreaker, & a mid-layer under other coats for wintery hikes. It is very light weight & would be great for high aerobic workouts in cold or windy conditions. I want one for me!!!
By Cate the Great from Rochester MN on 06/05/2008 Cons: Poor Fit, Restricts Movement Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I didn't like the feel of the fabric and the Fit was too tight in the sleeves and waist.
By Lisa R from Georgia on 12/17/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Professional Athlete Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for running and cycling. Based on other brands of technical clothing I've purchased, I've always needed an extra small. When I received the extra small Mammut jacket, I was concerned it wouldn't fit, as it looked teeny tiny. It does fit, although I'd prefer one size larger, as there is not much room for layering and bulk. The arms seem to be the right size, so perhaps the fit of the jacket is just supposed to be highly contoured. If you prefer a more relaxed fit, order one size up. The jacket breathes well and looks nice.
I would buy this product again and again By L~~ from brppklyn, NY on 12/08/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I lovethis jacket.
