Good boot, but not for me By Auburn Rose from Seattle WA on 10/22/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Comfortable, supportive boot, looks well-made and would have liked to keep. Could not tell by online pictures that the last is too curved for my flat foot. Wish that STP would categorize all shoes (or at least the trail and hiking boots) by last as done with the running shoes, i.e., for under and over pronation, or in other words, whether a straight, curved, or semi-curved last. A picture of the sole (as viewed from the underside) would be helpful.
Very Handsome Boots, But Too Roomy By Dog Trainer Lady from Cincinnati, Ohio on 10/06/2009 Pros: Too roomy didn't keep Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These were extremely handsome boots & appear well made, but just too roomy in heel & also the up & down part, but I do have a trim foot. I am returning & keeping a narrower pair that came in same shipment.
By bargainShopper from Denver on 10/04/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore these boots straight out of the box on a fairly steep 4-5 hour hike near Denver. Rubbed on my heels a bit by the end, but I think tighter lacing could have solved that. Excellent traction on boulders, logs, and loose gravel. No break-in time needed. Wonderful ankle support, and good amount of space in the toe box. I ordered a 42.5 and they fit well with liner socks plus thin to medium hiking socks - no bruised toes! (I wear a 10.5-11 normally, and a 12 in running shoes.) Haven't tested them out in rain or snow yet...
Excellent value!
By newtoutah from southern utah on 09/01/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are nice boots - well made, nice features - but I had to return them. The toe box is very narrow and would have bruised my little toes. It was a big disappointment as I really liked the rest of the boot. I would, however, recommend them to friends with narrow feet.
By Outdoor lvr from CA on 06/14/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these boots for about 4 hours around the house before taking them on a 3 day backpacking trip on the Lost Coast, with a very heavy pack. We hiked rollers, rocks, slate, dirt and sand on very uneven slopes (front to back and sideways) and these boots rocked! I didn't get any blisters (which is awesome for boots I hadn't broken in very well!). Definately a fantastic buy!
By SK from Overland Park, KS on 01/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just took a quick trip to the great white north (Minnesota). Used my boots daily as my outdoor footwear. Wore a medium weight wool sock, and my feet were happy campers. These boots have performed as expected.

By OnTheGo from midwest on 11/12/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This boot runs about a half size to small. However I can wear them with thin socks. This is a heavy duty boot with very little flexibility. They shipped fast!
By Wobbly Walker from Oakland CA on 11/11/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good boot at a good price. Very comfortable with good support. I usually wear 8-1/2; the 9-1/2 boot was perfect for me.
By Stacey from Chapel Hill, NC on 11/10/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these boots -- the ankle support is *great* -- they feel like ice skates without the skates! They still find a way to be very comfortable, though. Heed the warning about them running small -- I am normally a 7.5 (American sizes), I ordered a size 38, and they were too small. I returned them for a size 39, which are perfect. These are the best hiking boots I have yet owned. I have not tested their water-resistance yet, though.
