They are the softest Smartwool socks I own, and I have about 12 pair of Smartwool socks that I wear with my muck boots while working in the barn. I purchased these dressier, thinner Smartwool socks to wear with my regular winter street shoes (clogs, motorcycle boots, Keen boots). There is one problem - they pill horribly after just one washing but the pilling seems limited to the bottom of the sock, so it doesn't show if you're wearing shoes.

I will use this sock not only for wearing with slacks but also for cycling. The comfortable ankle area will not constict blood flow to my feet which can contribute to foot numbness. TM
