Comments:
The Crossbow is a fantastic all-around ski. I've been super-happy with it and would recommend it to any level of skier from intermediate on up. It's a stiff, responsive, aggressive ski that carves like a dream in both crud and powder. As a woman, I've been frustrated when I demo women-specific skis, since manufacturers seem to assume that women aren't aggressive (or heavy?) enough to want a stiff ski, and instead push limp noodles decorated with cute graphics on us. Those limp noodles are often dreamy in powder, but suck in mixed conditions. The Crossbow rocks across the board in resort, backcountry and powder, and has been tough enough to handle me carving turns while carrying a huge pack, too. By the way, my much-larger husband has also skiied Crossbows for the last three years, and is still completely happy with them. Even after a tough 10-week backcountry traverse with a 100-lb pack, they're still going strong, so guys, this is truly a ski for all of us.

Comments:
An excellent versatile area and backcountry ski. That said, they are not very forgiving, making them a poor choice for beginner/intermediate ski. I found I had a hard time staying on top of them in the beginning of the season. Now, with 20+ days on them (roughly half backcountry and half resort skiing), I am starting to see them shine on widely varying slope angles and snow conditions. I think early season, when I'm not in my top shape and top form, will always be a little rough on these skiis. I give this a 5-star rating for bigger and/or stronger skiers and advanced/expert aggressive skiers. I am more cautious about recommending them to lighter and more passive skiers.
