I am probably right on the edge in this style. I can only wear very thin socks and am hoping that they will stretch with wear. But, I love the looks and still find them to be comfortable.

I am forced to be comfort driven because of a neuroma in my right foot. If my forefoot gets squeezed ir really hurts. I'm usually a size 9.5 to 10, C width.
This shoe was perfectly comfortable with thin socks, no breaking in at all. I orderdered size 42.
