By KSD from Grand Junction, CO on 11/07/2008 Cons: Shoe laces are very slick Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Needed some comfy, work appropriate shoes and these fit the bill..if only I could get them to stay tied.
Not what I expected from Dansko By Liz the traveler from Washington, DC on 11/07/2008 Cons: Not much support, Not terribly sturdy, Not the quality I expect Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are fine. They look okay, they feel okay. But I don't expect just "okay" from Dansko. I mean, their clogs are INCREDIBLE. I bought these shoes because I wanted support and comfort walking on the metal surfaces of an aircraft carrier. After wearing Danskos for the past decade, I thought I could get what I needed from my favorite shoe company. These shoes are completely wussy. I'll wear them because I don't have time for another option but these shoes are for granny to wander to the grocery store in, not for any real walking or work. C'mon Dansko, I expect more!
By PT Paula from Des Moines, IA on 11/07/2008 Cons: Irregular Fit, Too Stiff Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These seemed a little stiff/rigid in the toe box area, almost like steel toed shoes. I can wear them, but would not have purchased them if tried on locally.
By Multi-tasking Suburban Mom from Lexington, MA on 11/07/2008 Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a comfortable shoe that blends in with pantsuits at work. These shoes are not so comfortable because the seams rub the wrong places. I'm looking for something better than that.
DO NOT TRUST THE SIZE CHART! By MK from Bozeman, MT on 10/31/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I won't be giving a long review as I have to return these shoes, so no, "field testing." Despite some customer comments I trusted the size chart, as I have always worn a 39 in Danskos and am between an 8.5 and 9. But, those who found fault with the sizing are right: too short. Size up one. They are high quality as is consistent with the brand. I am not sure the arch support is enough if you need that. It's not like the clogs.
lacks usual Dansko arch support By Sue from Santa Rosa, CA on 10/30/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Packs easily, Roomy toe box Cons: Lacks usual arch support, Thinner than usual soles Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a huge Dansko fan, since they give me the arch support I need. Bought these shoes for a trip to Europe, and found I needed to modify them. They lack the usual arch support of Dansko, and have thinner soles, especially under the ball and toes of the foot. I added an arch support insert, and they worked out fine.
Black and Brown are sized differently By Sandra Dee from Everett WA on 09/30/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought both a black and a brown pair to wear to work. Brown pair fit wonderfully. Black in same size was too small.
By Foxflower from rural CA on 09/11/2008 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These felt really good at first, but after wearing them all day without even walking much the tops of my feet hurt. The forward most lace eyes, or the area around it, was rubbing and pressing on my feet each time they creased. I am returning them and trying another pair of Danskos. I have two pairs of Danskos in other styles that are really comfortable, especially the standard clog.
Comfortable, soft, and supportive. By Comfy Shoe Queen from Chicago, IL on 09/03/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Walking Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are true to size, plenty wide, soft, and comfortable. They have good arch supports and were comfortable right out of the box. It's tough to find a lace-up shoe that isn't completely orthopedic-looking, but these are cute enough and quite comfortable - I'd definitely buy again.
