Great Knife, not so great sheath. By Grunt U. from Massillon, OH on 03/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As a former infantry Marine for 8 years I've know a few blades. Great knife, good blade, works very well as a solid carry knife for back country hiking. I own several Columbia River knives and they have all exceeded my expectations and this one is no different. The sheath on the other hand needs some work. There are 2 retaining straps for the handle where one would be more than sufficient on a knife this size. It has an accessory pouch on the sheath that would be great except for the huge buckle and strap to keep it closed-too large and doesn't secure what's in the pouch. It also come with a leg strap that would do well with a larger blade but it is removable. I will be looking at having a custom sheath done for this in Kydex. Blade=top quality, sheath=not so much.
Box says Taiwan, Knife is made in China By DJ from Washington State on 03/16/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The real problem with this item is that it is advertised as made in Taiwan and says that on the box. The knife blade is labeled China. CRK&T has been shifting production of some of the older models to China where the labor is cheaper. The factory box and [...] ad should reflect that so customers are not mislead.

Prefer 3-4" blade.
