By happy hiker from Boston MA on 06/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very solid, sharp, good quality, lock works very well. Tanto blade style is best for rough work, not so good for skinning and carving. A great emergency knife. Very good value at this price!
Big Dog Knife; Firefighter approved. By stevenson911 from Kennewick, Washington on 04/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a firefighter/ paramedic and many of my friends own this knife and I have bought 4 of them (gifts). The only problem with this knife would be it's size. It is probably to large for most pockets unless you wear loose fitting pants; however, it does have a good clip. This duck and pheasant season I did most of my bird cleaning with this knife... A man can never own enough knives!
By Bruce from Waterford, MI on 04/04/2009 Pros: Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Hunting, Work at the Fire Dept Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use it at work as a emergency knife
Serious Tool for Backpacking By Dog Man Bob from Park City, Utah on 03/19/2009 Pros: Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Hunting, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this because it fills a special need: a strong serious knife without heavy handle and sheath of fixed blade. The blade is thick steel in a length suitable for self-defense or extrication, yet will handle most camping needs. Good to keep in car as well. Nice value for money. Might rate a rare five if I had used it longer and could assess edge holding and durability better.

Love the backup lock back mechanism. Truly feels like a fixed blade when locked.
By White House!!! from New Orleans, La on 01/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade Best Uses: River Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This knife is huge. Definitely riding the edge of being legal for carry. Liner lock engages automatically but the Lawk system must be engaged manually. Opening is very smooth and handle is very grippy.
By Poppy Chulo from Domain, CA on 11/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Campgrounds, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: CRKT are great knives. The description is not accurate. There is no Auto Lawk, only the manual LAWK.
