By Ally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula on 01/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are comfortable and warm and the traction is superb. Besides using them for walking on icy and snowy rural roads, I used them to jog for a over a mile and they felt like winter-proof running shoes. I am thrilled with them. It was -11F and my feet were toasty during an hour walk. Heed the hint about ordering 1/2 size larger. I wear an impossible-to- find size 4.5 and ordered these in a 5. They fit perfectly. The toe box gives ample room for your toes to wiggle so even with wool socks you have the airspace needed to keep your toes warm. Another buyer mentioned she was disappointed by the appearance but I think they are very nice looking and stylish. When spring comes, the blue color will look nice with jeans and khaki hiking pants. The only drawback for me are the round laces. That type of laces always needs tying in a double knot to stay put. In this locale the boots become coated with snow and ice. Trying to undtie them when they are frozen or stiff with snow is a struggle. Of course, that isn't an issue in other climates. I am going to switch them out for a pair of speed laces which I just ordered from [...]. Even with that slight inconvenience, I still really like these boots and would not hesitate to order them again!
By Anna Belle from Syracuse, NY on 01/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been living in sub zero temperatures and we have had over 100 inches of snow this season. I walk the dog daily and my feet have not once been cold. I don't like the gusseted tongues because I have a high arch and instep as well as orthodics, which make it difficult to get my feet into these shoes even buying them one size bigger. I would also like them to come in wide width.

By Winter cyclist from Lafayette, IN on 01/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Not Warm Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a full time cyclist in Indiana. I ride my bike to and from work everyday in cold, snowy conditions. I usually ride in weather between 30 degrees and 10 degrees with some days being as low as -15. I found that these boots were barely warmer than the vasque sundowners that I was wearing previous to this purchase. My commute is only 15-20 minutes and during that time my feet would frequently get very cold and even go numb sometimes. I found them to be reasonably comfortable, but they were not warm at all. Maybe if you were out running or any activity that keeps blood pumping to your feet you might be ok, but they do not work for cycling or just walking around. I love the look of them, but sadly I will be returning them due to the fact that they do not work for what I bought them for.
By Granna from Kingston, RI on 01/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes need no breaking in; they were comfortable the first time I used them. They are all purpose for easy winter walking/hiking--great traction, warmth, and comfort. The recommended suggestion to order a half-size up was prudent.

Great for a winter hike in the woods! By MJ from Warwick, RI on 01/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the boots, lightweight, warm, perfect for a winter hike in the woods. My only complaint is that the laces don't loosen very much. I have a high instep and it is a struggle to put these on. Once on they are very comfortable and I really do like them and would highly recommend them.
By MzzP from Seattle on 01/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought a full size larger and they fit great. I have rather large orthotics, so, I am finding a full size larger is necessary. It also allows for plenty of toe room. They are super light, easy on and off and very supportive. I've not yet tried them outdoors, but can't wait to do so.
I've Been Living In These By BargainHunter from North Little Rock, Arkansas on 01/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Warm Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had to get these a little big because my size wasn't available, but I've really been impressed by them anyway. They are comfortable, a little difficult to get into, though. Good traction on the soles in slippery conditions.
