great, light weight, supportive shoe By dawnrae from new jersey on 08/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, This is a quality product Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I believe I found a great replacement for my former Vasque hiking shoes that lasted a very long time. I have tried other brands available in most local chain sporting goods stores but they never compare to Vasque.

By Desolation was my Destonation from Stevens Point, WI on 07/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Cons: Heavy, Not Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these for 4 days straight in the Desolation Wilderness of California. Day 1 we hiked up Horsetail Falls and I got a pretty harsh blister on my right heel. Each day we hiked about 5-6 miles on very up and down terrain with little to no trails. The shoes were very comfortable other than the blister, but they are pretty warm and not water resistant. I'd say if you're a trailblazing day hiker I'd highly recommend them, but they're not quite adequate for a hard core backpacker. I did not like the overall quality.
