Certainly warm. Felt is a bit itchy, in the un-lined sections of the pants.
Best all around pants I have ever worn.. By stubones from Alaska from Alaska and MI. on 01/02/2009 Pros: Attention to Detail, Beautiful heavy wool, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Flattering, Great Color, High Quality, Stylish, Warm Cons: But itch goes away, Slight itch at first Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Indoors back to outdoors, Outdoors to indoors Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are the industry standard for cold comfort and remain at comfortable body temp. when indoors...
Great 3 season pants.
The wool has a slight almost irredescent sheen, eseacially the "dark green heather"...
This great material is slightly itchy for about 5 minutes but you become accustom to it...{I did but this may differ with more skin sensitive people}
The characteristics of the wool allow for free flow flex movement without the restrictions of movement experienced in jeans...The crotch area is never binding on the family jewels...
I never much cared for cargo pockets as they always seemed to exaggerate A restricting, annoying and rubbing pressure on the leg in motion...Not so with these pants, you forget the baggage about the same time the slight itch leaves you...
I bought at least 15 to 20 pair in two waist sizes and 3 colors...
I think I am O.K. for the rest of my days for Fall, winter, and spring...
On extremely cold days I wear silk or thin thermals underneath and this layering provides extra warmth and cuts the wind chill...
I somehow think that America will be turning down the thermostats {inside cooler temps. like europe}in the years to come and these pants will be an excellent investment in survival if not comfort alone...
Steinbock is A tremendously high quality outfit that has really done their homework and has centuries of german know how incorporated into all of their products...My favorite outfit for wool sweater vests and jackets and sport coats....

Cut a little slim in the waist and seat. Only one back pocket so takes a little getting used to.
