By Titanium from Fairbanks, AK on 04/16/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Great pockets, Lightweight, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this jacket for the shoulder season in Alaska (August-Sept, April-May) and found myself wearing throughout the entire winter. Admittedly, I bike to work in the snow- and can be found skiing at -20; this jacket keeps pace with the insanity. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. But only if you're an all-around athlete who enjoys being comfortable and warm even in the most bizarre weather. This jacket handles Pacific Northwest rain, South East AK sludge, Interior Alaska cold, and manages to breathe easily all the while.
Needs pit zips for ventilation. By Outside Girl from West Chester Pa on 03/07/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Too snug at arm pits Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Needs hood; needs more room in the shoulder joints, needs armpit zips if it's going to fit as snugly as it does.

By Brooke from Greenville, SC on 11/13/2007 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was a little hesitant to order this softshell sight unseen, but I am so glad I did! It fits perfectly and is very warm. The only drawback is that it's not waterproof (only water resistant), but it will still keep you dry in a light rain. For really wet weather, this is not the one to buy. Great wind resistance. Another great product by Arc'Teryx.
