The shorts are really versatile after you do this. You can wear padded tights underneath for cool weather. Also, the liner will not get tangled up when they are washed. Order a size larger than you think, and use the waistband adjustments.

I read reviews re too small, so I ordered one size larger (XL) than I normally wear (L). Fit is perfect (you can tighten waist) and well padded (without showing padding). Great board short style; they don't look like bike shorts.
