I ordered one size up and they fit great. They are a little long (I'm 5'6") but with my boots they are fine. I am by no means tall & skinny but after reading the reviews I ordered a size 12. They do puff out a little at the hips but that just means there is room to move. Great value!
By TM from Minnesota on 02/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Downhill, Ice fishing, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't worn these out yet but they seem like they will work. I would say to go about 3 sizes bigger on the spyder brand that what you usually wear. I am a size 6 and I ordered a size 12. Part of it might be the length, I needed longer, but the waist on this felt tight on the 10. Seem like great pants though, especially for the price!

The fit of these pants IS a bit tricky, but if you order the right size you should be just fine.
After reading the previous reviews on this product I knew that I should order several sizes up. I usually wear about a 6 or an 8 in jeans, depending on the brand. I got a 10 in these pants, which worked well.
I usually need at least a 32" or 33" inseam in pants, and the length of these fit me quite well. If you're on the shorter side you may want to stay away from these pants.
The waist actually fits me fine. However, these pants do not leave you much room in the crotch. A slightly more forgiving waistband would allow these pants to slip down on your hips a bit and give you more room in the crotch. As everyone is saying, order a few sizes up!
Sizing is way off, two sizes too small By Kat from Truckee, CA on 12/27/2008 Pros: Breathable, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Coach of high school ski team and ordered for athletes. Pants came at least two sizes too small. 10s ordered and really these are 6! Fortunately we have 40+ kids to find someone to fit into them so avoided the hassel of return. Recommend to make the problems with sizing clearer.
By snowmobile girl from Denver, CO on 03/20/2008 Pros: Durable, Warm, Waterproof Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It says to order one size larger, in my case I had to order 2 sizes larger. I'm a size 6, but after ordering size 8 it was too tight and I had to exchange for a 10.
For tall and skinny only! By Montanaslider from Montana mountians on 03/10/2008 Pros: High mesh back panel, Unknown poor fit Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These were flagged as "runs small" So we ordered
a size up. That did not do the trick as my daughter could not even try them on. Reordered both next sizes up & found the waist to skinny & inseam way to long. Had my wife try the larger sizes with poor fit complaints as well. The thigh
area also bulges out making them look like kids discount store snow pants. The finish & materials looked good but?? Anyway, very unhappy to try 3 sizes in good faith & have to be out shipping charges no fault of our own.
Tried 3 sizes couldn't find a good fit. By montanaslider from montana mountians on 03/04/2008 Pros: Durable, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Bulky, Hard to fit correctly, Hips bunch out, Narrow waist Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these for my daughter, she normally wears a size 8. But it said runs small so we went with a 10. This was to small to even try on. So we tried a 12 but still to tight in the waist to bend over, but way to long in the leg and puffy billows at the hips. My wife tried the 12 & 14 with the same results, so we sent them all back.
We did ike the high mesh back to keep out snow, full length side zips & general quality.
