Great Product Great Price By DJ from Tacoma on 11/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great quality waterfowling product! Because it is a shell only, it would be helpful to have information about liner jackets that could be used with this product.[...]
By Tealwhacker from the marshes of the Great Salt Lake on 10/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Needs a zippered on hood Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Waterfowling, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have now used this parka for a full 107 day waterfowling season and found it to be the best I've ever owned. Well-executed design except for the hood attachment which is inadequate but easily fixed. Perfect as is for temps down to the 40s. Wear your favorite fleece or other type of liner jacket underneath and you're good to go down into the teens or below! All the complaints about Sierra not selling this parka without a liner are unmerited--pick your own liner for a great STP price and start hunting! This product is easily worth every penny at twice the price. Way to go Sierra!
The word shell is misleading By knobguy from Fairbanks, Alaska on 10/13/2009 Cons: Has a liner, Hood is wimpy Best Uses: Cold drizzle but not rain Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The name says it's a shell so I was disappointed that it had a synthetic liner. I have the feeling it would weigh a ton by the end of a rainy day. The hood is marginal. If you really want to stay dry leave it at home.

Widgeon shell jacket for duck hunting. By Rimfire from Essex Jct on 09/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This feels comfortable and warm. It is large enough that I'll beable to use it as another outer layer when duck hunting. On the down side, when the collar is rolled and stored in the collar sleeve behind the neck, it is bulky and bunches up. I'll snap this collar off and carry in a pocket when not used. This shell looks durable, and the advertisement stated it was waterproof, though no labels with the shell indicated that it was. I'll soon find out....
Nice looking jacket...haven't hunted yet By ds272 from Sacramento, CA on 09/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof Best Uses: Duck hunting in storms Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't hunted in the jacket yet, but appears to be an OK jacket. I would have liked the hood to be sewn on instead of just snap on. OK for the price.
Columbia Widgeon Shell Jacket By cb from sd on 07/30/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
By BrowninG Guy from Minnesota on 06/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Windproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Waterfowl hunting, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great camo pattern for the marsh. Well made. The waterproof Omni-tech lining isn't Gore-tex, but it's a close second. Adding a Columbia liner makes it functional into the late season, even here in Minnesota.
