Widgeon waterfowl Jacket looks good By philedawg from Rohnert Park, CA. on 03/24/2009 Pros: Warm, Will use in Fall 2009 Best Uses: Haven't used yet Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Would be better if hood was attached by zipper.
Snaps will fail and hood eventually lost. Might try epoxying snaps in place. Also no jacket liner.
Columbia Sportswear Widgeon Shell Jacket By Glenn from Japan on 02/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Excellent jacket but if it had the inner liner it would be better. Also if the hood was attached with a zipper would be great.
good jacket, but could use some design i By ducky john from piedmont va. on 01/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Hopefully durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Cons: Needs zip inside pocket, Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Duck Hunting, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this product to duck hunt in.
The material is tough but flexible, and seems to be durable. The camo is good. The fit is good. I like the two zip pockets at each edge of the zipper.
The shell loaders are a good idea but too tight and there is no closure at top to prevent losing shells when jacket is off and moved around.
Hood might be better if attached; it is too bulky when stored rolled under the collar.
A large zip pocket on left chest would be nice.
An inside zip pocket would also be nice.
A slick nylon lining with very light insulation would be better than the fleece. I will wear this jacket with a very light-weight down vest rather than a full zip in liner. I do not know if a zip in vest like this is available or not.

It appears the liner is usally included with the jacket and that Sierra Trading is selling it seperately.
