By J from Missouri on 12/11/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great coat. Need to get liner separate. Used for a week waterfowl hunting in sub-freezing temperatures. Kept me warm and toasty. The only thing i dont care for is the hood. It's thin and only attaches with 3 snaps. Would be better if hood was permanantly attached or zipped on. Overall, great coat.

By New England Duck Hunter from New England on 12/03/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Hood is a bit sketchy Best Uses: Cold Weather, Duck Hunting, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I buy alot of stuff some Sierra, only to send it back. This jacket is maybe my best purchase yet. The jacket size is right on for layering over a liner and waders. The shell tubes are a nice touch. It has two (right and left) call pockets high on the jacket to keep your calls dry. It also has mesh bottom pockets.
The first day I wore this jacket it was 19 deg, with 15 mph winds. Aside from the lower 5" of the jacket being frozen stiff, and the zipper freezing shut, I was in heaven with this jacket.
My only complaint is that the hood could be more secure. I think I am going to cut the velcro off and add some snaps of my own, but this is a very minor problem
Columbia Sportswear Widgeon Shell jacket By Waterfowler from Cambria, CA on 12/02/2008 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'll use this shell with a Columbia liner I already own. Without the liner the shell won't serve under cold conditions. I'm happy with the shell, but if it had more pockets it would be perfect.
By Florida Sportsman from St. Petersburg, FL on 11/23/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was mildly disappointed to find that this jacket did not include the removable liner that is designed specifically for this jacket. The additional full length zipper is installed inside this coat specifically for the removable liner.
Question. Is it possible to purchase the liner from you for this jacket?
By Jacko from Moses Lake, WA on 11/22/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Windproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Surprised me but I liked the shell feeder pockets. Before this jacket, I always had shothshell loops in the coat pockets to hold shells. This new "system" worked fine for me in a duck blind.
By Madmarc from Saguenay,Qc,CAN on 11/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this product for duck and goose hunting and love the Delta Hunter Marsh camo. I had already a columbia winter jacket for our winter(-30C) and I'll continue to trust this company. But this shell need the liner jacket for cold temperature.
I would buy this product again By Zeeth from Pittsburgh PA on 11/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a waterfowler, the jacket is waterproof & windproof. The hood could use more snaps.
By beacher from Stanwood, Wa on 11/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: works well as a shell. recommend a liner if using in late season colder weather. The only con is the hood comes off rather easily. definately needs a zipper for this to be attached properly. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Surprised Columbia overlooked the importance of a bomb proof system for the hood.
By Jim from Southbury, CT on 11/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Waterfowling in wet, windy and cold weather. Waterproofing works. Hood attachments (2 snaps) are too flimsy and actually come undone while moving about. They are very tough to resnap when you still have the jacket on.
