By The Headless Cacher from NW Rhode Island on 04/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The first time I wore these was on a six mile hike in the wilds of Maine on a rainy day. I broke a cardinal rule and did not break them in first. I had midweight wool socks on and I had NO problems with hot spots or blisters. I stepped in some puddles and shallow spots in small streams and I was surprised to see that they didn't leak. They do NOT seem to repel water any more but they are over SEVEN years old.
They are starting to get pretty worn in the soles and heels now but I am ordering a new pair today. I didn't think they were still available and I am thrilled to see that they are.
