love love love this boot! By Maggie from Chariton, IA on 11/10/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this boot because of the great reviews. They do need to be broke in, especially the toe area. After only one day of wearing them my back pain went away. I've struggled with back problems my whole adult life. These are the best thing I've done for it!!!!! I wear them to work 5 days a week.
By mamasuz from Rural Ohio on 11/08/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Light-weight Cons: Not Durable/ Wears Easily, Not Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Heavy Duty Gardener Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do a lot of heavy gardening and my acreage is full of rocks and rugged terrain. Any other shoes and boots have been too heavy and inflexible. I wanted something to protect my feet and give me sure and steady footing on the uneven ground. But I also wanted the boots to be light-weight enough to get down low in the garden and plant or pick. These boots had the perfect combination of my desired traits.
However, they were not water resistant. Walking across the dewy grass every morning resulted in wet socks every time. And, I wish they would not be breaking down. Unfortunately the soles show a lot of wear after my heavy use all summer, and it appears that the soles are separating from the upper, just a tiny bit.
Even with the cons, though, These required no break-in... they were comfortable from the first time I put them on. They were serviceable all summer, and I loved them so much I ordered a second pair. I expect to get another season or two out of the first pair, and will save the second pair for when the first pair wears out.
I love the roomy toe-box and fit of Earth shoes and boots. I can count on them almost every time.
"These are my second pair!" By Jill the Lawn Girl from Racine,Wi on 11/07/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday Describe Yourself: Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am in the lawn care business, and this is my second pair of this particular shoe; although I have had "Earth" brand shoes many times before. Never have back problems after walking or standing for hours!
For dry terrain and narrow feet By lizzielu from West Virginia on 10/17/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible Describe Yourself: Environmentalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are comfortable, except the toe box is too small. Even though I tried 2 sizes and bought 1 size larger than usual, the toes are still tight. They are not waterproof. a walk across a wet lawn causes wet feet. I love Earth shoes and own several pair, but these are not sized the same as my others.

By Fle from Westchester, New York on 07/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Lightweight, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just got these boots and have worn them four times on short hiking trips and I didn't get blisters or rubs or anything! These are really comfortable and support the ankle well. It takes a little effort to tighten the lases but the sole is great and there are indents in the sole for your toes which are helpfull when climbing! What's also great is they are lightweight. I have yet to try them out in wet conditions but they seem durable and water resistant.
