By Annie from Star Prairie, WI on 05/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading all the reviews, I decided to order one size larger and was glad I did. At my regular size (small), this jacket would have never fit over any thing more than a t-shirt. This is definitely a warm weather jacket. I was initially put off by how light it was, but this was an advantage for hiking and it still protected against rain and wind (haven't tried it on any cyclones yet). The hood is also surprisingly generous and I like the longer length to cover my tush.
I would buy this product again By Sis from Knoxville TN on 05/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I will wear the jacket in Europe
By sandy from stamford, ct on 05/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As noted, runs small, so I ordered the large and it fits well enough. A bit longer than most jackets, which is nice. Brown is quite attractive - has a little purple in it, so not drab.
By Camping college student from Wyoming on 05/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got the brown, I was a little hesitant because it doesn't seem like a very raincoat-ish sort of color, but I am very happy with it. It is almost a wine color. A lot more purple than I had expected but lovely. Happy with it.
Great lightweight rain jacket By Auntie Di from Oregon on 05/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Definitely buy one size larger than your usual size. I bought a small and had to send it back for a medium, which fits perfectly. Looks great and is super lightweight and packable. I plan to take it backpacking to Thailand.

Be sure you receive parka not jacket By rain runner from NJ on 05/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Pit zips - no mesh liner, Pit zips mis-placed Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Based on previous reviewers' comments, I ordered both a medium and a large. I kept the large - which is essentially sized the same as the medium through the chest and sleeve length - both sizes are roomy enough for a softshell beneath. I returned the medium because it was mis-marked as a parka, and was actually the jacket (shorter, no waist cinch). Good value for the price paid.
By e from Chicago IL on 05/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wow! This is the best of all rain jackets I have tried. I'm 5ft 90lbs and I ALWAYS wear xxs or xs or 00! But I got this jacket in size S because I want to wear it over layers during colder days. I haven't tried it in the rain yet, but as far as fit and comfort goes, it's PERFECT!!! I have tried on Marmot's Precip, Phoenix, and Skyline rain jackets as well as TNF's Venture, Kelly, and Decagon rain jackets, but this jacket by Sierra Designs has the best fit, longest lenght, and the best price! If I have to say one negative thing, it's that the side pockets are a bit low, but that could just be me because I'm short! [...]
By JJ from Michigan on 05/02/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this jacket while I was in Africa during the rainy season - it held well during storms. I am normally a S-M size, but ordered a L based on the recommendations of others. The jacket goes down to mid-thigh on me, but that's nice because it means I'm dry from the mid-thigh up! The sleeves fit perfectly.
