Comments:
I wanted a waterproof shell-like jacket, and I got one. I haven't yet tried it out in the pouring rain but thus far it seems to be holding up. I'm a little worried about the durability if get snagged on something like a tree branch or bush when I'm riding my bike, but it seems like a good item. I'm not a fan of velcro in general, because it has a lifespan that is often shorter than the jacket, but I covered mine with small strips of duct tape when I don't need the full protection in a drizzle.

Couldn't believe that something this soft & thin would protect against the elements. Sheds water, keeps you warm in a sudden storm and looks great. May have to get a 2nd one in another color.

The deep chocolate burgundy color is quite beautiful and the fit is great. Also the numerous pockets (inside and outside)and light weight, but durable waterproof fabric make this jacket useful as well as attractive for cool rainy weather. I recommend wearing a fleece vest underneath for colder temps. The hood rolls into the collar, another nice feature.

I'd glad I read the reviews - I ordered a size larger than I normally would and it fit just fine. I am 5'10" - I ordered this jacket because it was the longest womens waterproof jacket I could find on the Sierra site. It also weighed the least of all the jackets I considered - important when you backpack. I like the color. Haven't tried it out in the rain yet, but I'm sure it will be just fine.

Comments:
I agree with other postings on the sizing of this jacket. I want to have the option of wearing a fleece underneath; needed one larger size than my normal, so be aware of the use you want out of the jacket. That said, it is a great buy and I'm very happy with it. I also like the slightly longer length (covers your rear).

I will be using it when I travel to Ireland. It rains a lot there and will need something to keep me dry while I am touring the countryside. This looks like it will fit the bill
