By lady bus driver from central MN on 01/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Getting wood for stove, Shoveling, Snowshoeing Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Finally, a boot that fits my husband! He has swelling in feet and ankles, making it very difficult to find a boot that fits and is easy to get on and off. In the 9 years we have been in MN, I bet I have bought 6 pairs of boots, only to have them not fit. I am SO happy to have these!
Too big, too bulky for my uses By Not cold enough in AZ from Flagstaff, AZ on 01/02/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These would be great if I were back in Alaska this winter and working on a road crew. They are very very warm, seem to be well made, but too big for me! I'd never drive in these and they were just too big for my feet, my foot slid around in the footbed while hiking through deep snow. These boots are made for subzero temps for sure.
Not good for us - can not get on. By J from Wisconsin on 12/25/2008 Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband needs a warm boot - could not get his feet in the boot.
By SHE-RA mini horse breeder from South Lyon, MI on 12/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Don't Breathe, Heavy Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Hi, the last boot I bought and tried of a similar type and brand before this were rated to 45 below and my feet were cold at 32 above so they went back. With these boots my feet are very warm. I believe with the height of these boots (which I need because of the drifted snow)and composition that it would be impossible for them to be breathable and light, also they are wide but I can't think of anyway for them to be narrower and work effectively. So even though they are heavy, not breathable and wide I wouldn't change a thing on them as the pros far outweigh the cons and they are an excellent boot. However do not drive in these boots as the width can make it a possibility to press the gas instead of the brakes which my cousin did and went through the garage but it is no big deal to slip on something else to drive in. I LOVE THESE BOOTS, they are no fashion statement but totally do what myself as a mini horse breeder in the winter needs!!!!
By arctic work from Interior Alaska on 12/12/2008 Cons: Heavy, Sizes run small Gear Usage: Cold weiather field work Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Although I haven't gotten the chance to test these boots in Sub-zero temperatures, they are definitally warmer than my pervious boots which were 'rated to -40 deg F." (my feet were cold at -15). I live in Alaska and frequently do field work when it's extremely cold. I think these boots will work great. The down side is that the sizes run small, I wear 10.5 and had to go with a size 12.
Yes, they are the best boots! By Woodchuck 2 from Maine on 12/11/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ok, these boots are great for any snow conditions. Feet are warm but not hot. Completely dry. The reinforced toe is as strong as steel without the weight. Great quality.
Excellent winter work boot. By not you from Lansing, MI on 12/10/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Safety Toe Required, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, cold weather work Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are cold weather work boots at their best. The composite safety toe is great, anyone who has worn steel toes in the middle of winter will appreciate it. My regular steel toes are 9.5 E3 US size. This boot in size 10 fits perfectly, the width is generous. The toes are a little tight due to the insulation coupled with the rigid safety toe, but still are very comfortable, and will only stretch in time. They also weigh about as much as my steel toe red wings.
By doc from Claremont, CA on 05/06/2008 Pros: Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: runs very small due to insulation especially in forefoot. I usually wear a 10, had to get a 12 to fit comfortably
