By Moving West from Dayton, OH on 11/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great top layer. Sizing allows room for a fleece or other insulating layer in cold weather. If you're sometimes between sizes (like I am), size down. Taped seems and zippers along with Gore Tex make it nearly impenetrable. High collar with microfleece will be invaluable on those chairlifts.
Solid jacket for the price By Wags from Chicago, IL on 08/16/2008 Best Uses: Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Being that I make somewhat of a hobby of shopping for ski gear-- pathetic I know-- I can give an educated opinion that this jacket is about the best value going for a Gore-Tex shell. It has a powder skirt, pit zips, sealed zippers and features that are usually found on more expensive jackets. Mine is actually brown which they don't have anymore. I like the brown color because it's not so "ski-jacket-ish" for casual wear. The blue looks tempting among the current crop of colors, but I'm sure my wife would make fun of me for owning two of the same jacket in different colors, so I'll resist!
