By Rico from Falls Church, VA on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Opens Smoothly, Sharp Blade Cons: Difficult To Close, The lock release is small Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a contractor and use the knife at work, home and in the bush. The Byrd comes in real handy at Home Depot and Lowes when I need to cut the straps off lumber, etc. When I'm off the clock the Byrd does a great job slicing up fruit, deer necks, sandwiches and opening my bottled beer.

The blade metal is new, but I found it favorably reviewed in a Benchmade review, and compared to 440b or 440c alloy.
