By Jim the Waterfowler from Maryland on 07/04/2009 Pros: Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Bird Watching, Hunting, Wildlife Viewing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Excellent product for the price. Replaced Leupold gold rings for scouting applications and occasional bird watching at the Black Water Refuge. Weight and balance are good as are optics. Great clarity with no distortion or blurring at edges. Should be a good marine binocular as well.
Great value on great product By Retired Firefighter from Northern Nevada on 01/25/2009 Pros: Close Focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Bird Watching, Sporting Events/Concerts, Wildlife Viewing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I first used Steiner binoculars on a railcar derailment involving hazardous materials (sulfuric acid & ethanol alcohol). As a Captain of our local fire department and the incident commander of this incident, and a lot was at stake. The quality optics of the Steiner’s allowed me to stay at a safe distance and identify the products involved. I have always wanted a Steiner binocular for personal use but could never afford them. But now through the Sierra Trading Post I was able to purchase the Steiner Predator 12x50 that I have always wanted for a price that I could afford!
