By Hunting fanatic from Newport Beach, California on 10/29/2009 Pros: Compact, Great Value, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Cons: Doesnt come with a case, Strap is a bit chincy Best Uses: Anytime, Bird Watching, Hunting, Sporting Events/Concerts, Wildlife Viewing Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are by far the best glasses for the price!!! I did a comparison to all glasses in this price range, namely Nikon and Leupold and these came up on top. The auto focus function is awesome! I would recommend these to anyone who is looking in the $200-$400 price range!

Once you focus them to your eyes you never have to focus them again, sweet binos

By OMAA from Pleasanton, CA on 03/09/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I did not want to go overboard with the pricing for my ocasional hunting trips. I had a 8x30 Steiner for a while and loved it but wanted to upgrade a bit for hunting. I ordered a few others to compare but this Steiner is really lightweight and if you are looking in this lower end price range a good deal. Do not confuse this with the high end Seiners. I like the eyepieces even better than the flat ones you get on way more expensive binos. I did end up ordering a harness and a case separate.

Another example of good German equipment By Pearl's man from Philadelphia, PA on 12/14/2008 Pros: Comfortable Eyepiece, Sports auto focus feature, Strong Construction Best Uses: Travel, Wildlife viewing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The primary use will be on an African safari. I noted the sports auto focus as BOTH a pro and a con. It's a definate pro if you plan to use them for viewing beyond about 40-50 yards. Its a con because to use them for closer viewing it's very cumbersome to adjust the focus closer than 40-50 yards. All that said they were absoultelty as represented, very comfortable and of sturdy construction. Recommendation would then be dependent on primary expected viewing purposes and ranges
By ~Steele~ from Kodiak Island, Alaska on 12/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable Eyepiece, Good accessories, Strong Construction Best Uses: Bird Watching, Bright Conditions, Identifying marine mammel, In my every day job, Low Visibility, Travel, Wildlife viewing Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I liked my first pair of Steiners so well, that when my first pair were stolen, I ordered another pair. I have been in the guide industry for over 20 years in Alaska. Steiners are a great quality mid range price binocular. Very durable, they can take a lot of abuse. I really like how each eye individually focuses. They are a nice size, and not to heavy. My customers all look at me and my equipment, to see what I wear, and use. I have to have quality equipment. My first pair of Steiners were 8x40, great for on the boat. This new pair are 10x40 still ok for on the boat. But the field of view is poor. Looking threw the eye peace, it is fuzzy around the edge, this shrinks the field of view. I would recommend Steiner binoculars to my customers and friends. But not this 10x40 predator model.
By Hammatime from Santa Monica, CA on 11/10/2008 Pros: Accurate, Comfortable Eyepiece Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As the Steiner reputation promised, these bincos have terrific color accuracy and brightness, awesome images. "Everything in focus" system takes some getting used to--and don't expect to focus on anything within about 75 feet of you. Other than that I couldn't be happier.
By MaDeuceUSMC from Woodland Park, CO on 11/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable Eyepiece, Strong Construction Cons: Difficult to Use, Poor Lens Quality Best Uses: Bright Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for hunting. I am not impressed with the image clarity; images are not crisp and seems to be hazy at the edge of the field of view. The Sports focus feature is difficult to use because the diopter focus bezels will not stay in place, so it is like to having to focus all the time; with the added difficulty if doing it one eye at a time. I like the built-in lens caps and the binoculars seem to be very durable. I used them in all weather conditions the Rocky Mountains can throw at them and they never fogged. Just don't like the focus and image quality.
