Works well, easy to set up By fred from saugerties ny on 08/01/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: stayed put during some pretty heavy winds, the fiberglass polls make it kind of heavy. we were camping on a beach and it was nice to have the extra shade.
By beachlover from Atlanta, GA on 07/25/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This shelter wasn't as large as I thought it would be, given the 12x12 dimensions. Once up, it provides good shelter for about 3 chairs. But getting it up isn't easy.
By The Celtic from Utah on 07/21/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This was difficult to set up in the wind. Using it on the beach with sand in the pole pockets made the poles bend badly. This is not recommended with any moderate breeze.
By avantg from WA state on 07/21/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great shelter if you have sand or some other material to fill the pockets to keep the shelter stable. It worked great for us on the beach and in the rain. With the pockets filled with sand it was very stable while other shelters were getting tossed around in the wind. We are happy with this purchase.
By Mom on the beach that loves the shade! from Long Island on 07/21/2009 Best Uses: beach, Car Camping, Day trip What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Saw the comments. You can put it together yourself, but it is hard, especially the first time. One of the poles broke, but the maker was responsive to replacing [...]. Good coverage on a hot sunny beach day. Can fit lots of stuff and a few people under it comfortably. Overall, good product. Only used it twice so we'll see how durable it is. Not worried though, company stands by it's product!
By Grill Guy from Newport, RI on 07/21/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this shelter primarily to provide shade for our daughter at the beach. Once I got it set up in the back yard, I realized its size and the time it takes to set up wouldn't support that purpose -- just a bit too big and involved. It would serve at the beach, but you'd want to be there all day to make lugging it out there and setting it up worthwhile. Setup is though pretty simple. If you can assemble a backpacking tent, setup here will be in the "fairly easy" range. Those with less experience might have a little trouble. What we did find though, is that this is a really sweet multi-purpose shade shelter, good for kids playing in the yard, gardening, or whatever. It's light enough so even one person can move it around, but sturdy enough while staked to withstand strong winds. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a side on it and given the design, gets quite a bit of sun under it beginning mid-afternoon. Solution: a 6 x 8 tarp and four bungy cords. It ain't pretty, but it works. Bottom line: especially at the price, this shelter beats everything else out there by a mile.
Wonderful but defective!!! By Leigh from Georgia on 07/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Lightweight, Tough Cons: Delicate, Pole tunnels' seams bad Best Uses: beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We practiced putting the tripod up before going to the beach. Much to our disappointment, the pole tunnels were loose at two places. We were so disappointed, but the tent went up easily after we realized we needed to loosen the web things at all points. Then it was easy as pie. So sorry the tunnels were defective. We hope to exchange and use again.

By exflyguy from Durham,NC on 07/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: even on sale, not worth the money. Ripped on second use. 15 mph winds will take it away.
By Camping in carolina from Sunset Beach NC on 07/10/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The seams (holding in one pole) fell apart the first time we set it up. The second time we set it up the seams came apart in another spot. This was very lightly used and is no longer useful.
