By bmw143 from Jonesboro,AR on 03/31/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is used for a sun/rain shade for our motorcycle camping. It will stand up to wind. While a little heavy for motorcycles it is doable and makes the camping much more enjoyable where trees are absent. Easy setup and take down,
A nice canopy for the beach or camping By Eric the Redwood from Chicago, IL on 03/31/2009 Pros: Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for the beach, but thus far it's been too cold so the kids have played under it in the yard. The protection from the sun it gives is nice and it covers a nice large area. I've set it up 4 or 5 times, and the fabric has yet to stretch adequately to allow for easy setup - getting the poles in with one person is still a small struggle. Haven't tried it in the rain yet.
Good for beach or campsite By Scott from West Chester, PA on 03/30/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't used it yet but noticed a couple of small tears in fabric upon initial set-up. Looks to be decent size and there are pockets at the pole ends to weigh down with sand or other available objects.
"Seems to be just what we wanted" By Plant Collector from Mineral Wells, Tx. on 03/23/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well, we haven't gotten to acutally use it, yet so, I don't quite know how to comment on it. We have set it up in the yard and found it to be nice. We're going to use it at a Kite Festival in a couple of weeks and plan on using it on South Padre Island, Tx. when summer gets here. We are really wanting to know how it does at the beach, mostly. It seems to be what we wanted but, will have to let you know more after the kite fest.

Easier after initial set-up. By Hip Librarian from Rural Oregon on 01/21/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have one of these and love it! My daughter calls it the UFO--it does look a little odd from a distance. Set-up was a challenge the first time, but once you know what you're doing and some of the tightness is eased out, it's pretty easy. I think it's worth the effort and a reasonable price to boot. We wouldn't car camp without it!
Did exactly what I bought it for! By Marty from Akron,Oh on 08/20/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this shelter to use on Assateague National Seashore to protect us on the beach. Although getting it set up on a very windy day was a bit tough, once it was secured with sand in the corner pockets (handy!)and guyed off, it withstood the powerful Atlantic winds. Thrilled with it's function and would buy it again as well as recommend it to others. Cool!
By Phil from California on 08/16/2008 Pros: Lighter than an Easy Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Thsi is a nice alternative to the heavy and bulky easy ups at the beach, however when side by side the Easy Up folks were sitting about 5 minutes before me. The poles and the slots are the delay in set up.
By Colleens Dad from Sea Isle City on 08/16/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased to block the sun from the baby on the beach. Difficult to set up, my wife could absolutely not do it by herself. One of the poles ripped through the fabric while setting up only the third time. Withstood breezes and light wind without staking after set up, but a struggle to put up and take down in any wind. It really did look like a good idea, but had to purchase another product while vacationing.
GREAT shade on the BEACH! By JJ from Winston-Salem, NC on 08/11/2008 Pros: Beach wind proof, Sturdy, Worth the set up time Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Set up in the early AM and left it up all day on the beach. Shade covered our two chairs and enough space for the kids to sit on the sand and play. "Bottomless floor" was a plus because no sand got trapped having to be shaken out! High ceiling interior to stand inside. Sand pockets are great to hold it in place. Heavy wind on one day almost took the shelter with it. We dug down about 6 inches, pressed in the guy rope pegs at an angle toward the shelter then refilled the holes with damp sand. After that, the shelter did not move! Won't do the beach w/o this again!
