Lots & lots of mesh, waterproof fly. By Newlywed from Maine on 11/12/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Lightweight rugged stakes, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the free-standing design and very light to carry. You will be hard-pressed to find a comparable weight tent with so much vestibule space. The fly has a specific orientation as the tent is not a symmetrical rectangular design - only an issue if you are in a hurry in the rain. Held up great in a downpour on it's first outing. Rained for two days straight- no issues. The fly lets in a lot of air as it does not cover all the way to the ground. Good to prevent condensation, not so good if really windy and trying to keep warm. Overall a great tent for the price. I purchased a larger Marmot for the kids after trying this one.
By Lost in Utah from Salt Lake City, UT on 11/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Little tight on the inside. First trip to Moab had a crazy sandstorm at night and got covered in the tent, but I still love the mesh exterior.
By mikado from charlotte,NC on 11/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We just bought and used this tent for one night in the camping, however after a lot of miles in the montains with different tent and bad condition i can say that it's confortable and light for two people,on the other hand the outside fly is kind too short that's give a air traffic(positive point will be not lot condensation),it is definitly not a mountaineering tent but can be use in summer time until 4500m in the andes and 2500m in europe with out any trouble if you located it in a good area. The futur will tell how long it will work,my last tent was six years old with a lot of reparation.
Enjoy the fresh air!
By the parson from Salem, IN on 11/08/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The size listed is not the inside floor dim.
So be sure you can afford to lose about 8" in length and 6" width plus the foot is about 10" narrower than the top. Other than the size issue its a good tent.
By tragabigzanda from Gloucester, MA on 11/07/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fairly sturdy, Fly Works Well, Pretty light, Very well ventilated, Waterproof Cons: Maybe too well ventilated Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach, Car Camping, Hiking, kayaking, Romance Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i'm picky about tents and i have little to complain about with this one. roomy for two good, could cram three (head to toe or synchronized spooning), enough vestibule space, well ventilated, minimum of poles, fairly sturdy when guyed out. i was hoping to push it and use it in the winter, probably still will, but it's pretty drafty (made of mesh, of course it's drafty). overall i'm very happy with the tent.
By Dave-O from San Diego on 11/07/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Took this on a 4 day trip through Zion park, it worked fairly well considering the weather (got stuck in a thunder/hail/snow storm before turning back). The rain fly kept it all off of us but it was pretty cold (if you are looking for a 3 season tent that is good for cold fall climates keep looking). With a 20 degree bag and my base layer I was warm after an hour or so but my girlfriend was freezing all night in a 25 degree bag. It is a very breezy tent, great ventilation; maybe too much. It is a little cramped for 2 people but do-able. I could not fit my pack in the tent with me while sleeping, but I am 6'0" so I wasn't expecting to. The rain fly does create a vestibule on either side which, if your stove is not too tall, you can cook under and it has two entrances. Tall enough to sit straight up in the middle. Packs pretty small, I wrap the poles in my sleeping pad and use a compression sack for the tent. All in all a good purchase in my opinion, just not great for more extreme weather. Light weight, well made, simple design. By Active senior from Santa Fe, NM on 11/07/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems to be a good compromise for backpacking and river rafting. Roomy enough for 2 tall people.
By emotd from Northern California on 11/07/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Sturdy Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This tent, while not as lite as the ultra-lites that cost hundreds more, will cover most 3 season uses that I will throw at it. The 2nd door is handy for mid nite ramblings.
By Skippie from Yellowknife, Canada on 10/07/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Canoeing, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This Tent is perfect, with both door you don't have to crawl over each other to get out. The material is really strong but also really light... Took me 2 sec to set up alone. enough room for a couple but I suggest you buy the 3 persons for 2 friends going camping. Really good price compare to other one. Compact, light, strong, waterproof, easy, and warm ... that is the best I could find.
Only used it once so far but... By way out there from Seattle, WA on 09/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took this out on an overnight during hot weather and left the fly off. Nice to be able to see out the whole tent, not just the top or side. It was easy to set up. I am having a hard time finding a footprint for it. I hope to take it out this fall and see how it holds up in the rainy/dewy northwest.
