Two of my friends have already gotten a pair for themselves.
They look good, feel great By Daffodale from Washington DC on 07/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Lightweight, Water Resistant Best Uses: Around The House, Casual Wear, Everyday, Hiking/Walking, Summer wear, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable, Environmentalist, Outdoor Enthusiast, Particular about shoes Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered some tevas and returned all three.
Someone told me about chacos.
I wore them right out of the box.
Lots of compliments on their appearance, but mostly, they are very comfortable once you adjust the straps. The system looks complicated, but makes sense. They can slip if not adjusted correctly; the right one readjusts after driving- pushing on the gas pedal tightens it up at the toe, and loosens towards the ankle.
small concession for a nice pair of sandals.
By pam4jb from UT on 06/03/2009 Pros: Breaths Well, Comfortable, Durable, Great Support, Great Traction, Lightweight, Water Resistant Best Uses: After Sport, Around The House, Casual Wear, Everyday, Hiking/Walking, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable, Environmentalist, Outdoor Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Chacos are great. I started wearing them on a daily basis 12 yrs ago. This is my first wrapsody style.
For those buying a 'slip on', this sandal requires the same detail as putting on a heal strap. I still enjoy them, as I do all my other styles. You can't beat the quality of a Chaco.
By Browntiger from Boise, idaho on 05/22/2009 Pros: Breaths Well, Durable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Outdoor Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I gave them to a friend traveling to Hawaii
By the pragmatist from Cincinnati, OH on 05/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Support, Lightweight, Water Resistant Best Uses: Around The House, Casual Wear, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable, Environmentalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair. Once you get the straps adjusted (a little tricky) they are great. I need arch support and these provide them. They work camping because they handle water well.
Needs break-in period; fab arch support By Rockie from Tucson, AZ on 05/05/2009 Pros: Breaths Well, Durable, Great Support, Water Resistant Cons: Straps too tight, Uncomfortable at first Best Uses: After Sport, Around The House, Beach or water recreation, Casual Wear, Everyday, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the arch support these sandals exhibit as I have a very high instep, but the straps are somewhat uncomfortable on the outer part of my foot where they all intersect. My foot must be a little wider in that area, so hopefully they will stretch with time and become a favorite. I pulled on the straps a bit to see if they would loosen and that seemed to help for the time being.
Very cute and sporty appearance.
great fit for my narrow foot. By Terri from Ohio on 04/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Support, Great Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Everyday, Hiking/Walking, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable, Value conscience Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My daughter-in-law recommended Chaco sandals to me as they have great "fit" adjustment. So when I saw these on sale, I studied the reviews. I went to the Chaco web site for their sizing guide to be sure I got the right length. I usually wear a 10.5 narrow. I went with the 10 and they are fine. I did the strap adjusting and there is no way they would slip off my feet as a few reviewers indicated. After setting them up for my feet there was a lot of strap "tail" left that I cut off and reinforce stitched with my sewing machine. I am very happy with them... finally sandals for a narrow foot.
I like the custom foot straps. By Jennifer the shoe afficianado from Wisconsin on 04/26/2009 Pros: Breaths Well, Comfortable, Durable, Great Support, Great Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: After Sport, Around The House, Casual Wear, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable, Environmentalist, Outdoor Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like that these do not have the thong that goes in between your toes and that there is no strap around the heel.
Good shoe, issues with straps By PanicPrincess from Lincoln, NE on 04/25/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Cons: Straps don't stay put Best Uses: After Sport, Casual Wear, Everyday, Hiking/Walking, Travel/Camping Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfortable Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are my first pair of Chacos and I think these sandals are great and were a great purchase for the price - I bought them to go on vacation in Kauai. I wore them a lot and had no issues with the right shoe, but the left shoe, as I walk, cinches up and gets tight. I cannot get the straps to stay put and feel like I am constantly re-adjusting. I don't have any issues with them falling off.
