Easy set up, great ventilation By Johnny Scouter from Charlottesville, VA on 06/17/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: bought this as a backpacking tent for my son and I (Scouts). It isn't really big enough for 3 adults, but perfect for us two and even if my other child goes. The ventilation is great. My 9 year old son put it up (that's easy) and it sat out in the rain (about 3 inches) for a week without any problems. Only issue is when you unzip the door, it just falls into the tent, which could be problematic when it's really coming down (or if you kid does it without paying attention - then some water leaks onto the screen - this could be better designed.
By not your real name from Minnesota on 06/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Cons: Collects Condensation, Poor Fly Design, Too Cramped Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this tent in NW Ontario during the last week. The tent seems to be waterproof but the fly lets in rain when you enter or exit.
By Creative Camper from Woodland Park, CO on 06/14/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This tent was incredibly easy to set up and take down, and that includes the rain fly. It doesn't come with a footprint, so that is kind of a drawback. So far I have used it once and two average sized women slept in it. While we had plenty of room, it would be hard to imagine a third person that was big fitting in with us. I would probably use this tent for two-person camping plus dogs, or a lot of stuff. It's fairly waterproof as well. When the rain fly is not on it is practically the same as sleeping under the stars, but it keeps the bugs out.
Great tent for a great price By swimmer/hiker from Boston, MA on 06/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Camped in Rhode Island last week with this tent. It took 10 min to set up, withstood, wind, was breathable during the day, and cool at night. It rained that night and the tent was dry with in a half hour the next day. So easy to use and extremely roomy for 2 people (probably could have purchased the 2 person tent but liked the extra room).
It is all about ventilation... By Oso from San Antonio,TX on 06/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach, Car Camping, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am very glad I purchased a 3-person version when really looking for 2-person tent: tent may be good for two and a dog maybe! Otherwise, it's all good and as advertised.
So great we bought another one! By The fun hogs from Farmington, NM on 05/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Sturdy, Waterproof Cons: Collects Condensation Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, River Rafting Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We just spent 5 days on the Yampa river rafting. We had 3.5 days of rain. This tent worked great and was easy to set up. We liked it so much we bought another one for the kids. The only drawbacks are if it's raining when setting up the tent the inside gets wet, and the rain fly did collect dew on one of the nonrainy nights. We will continue to enjoy these tents.
By Riverrunner from Durango, Colorado on 05/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping, Rafting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Perfect tent. It would however be cramped for three people. I bought this one for me and my husband. It was really inexpensive so I was worried that it would be cheaply made. However - we have used this tent already on two over night rafting trips and it's absolutely wonderful. I can literally set this tent up in under sixty seconds by myself. I love how without the fly - it's just netting and with the fly- we're completely protected from wind and water with two nice vestibules on each side. I do not recommend this tent for three people unless one or more is a child. Two large paco pads fit nicely with extra room at one end for personal gear. There are also a few small pockets for glasses/ contact stuff / head lamp or what ever on both sides.
Good 2 person tent for price By freegananarchistkid from ft. wayne, IN on 05/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Sturdy, Waterproof Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: easy enough to set up during a wind advisory and sturdy enough to withstand it. The fly requires stakes at the doors and sides and clips to the tent at the corners. Definitely big enough for two 6' people and maybe a couple small packs. ventilation is very good, even with fly up. Weight and size an obvious con if you're hiking with it. Would buy again
By Aspen CPA from Aspen, CO on 05/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Tent is well made and roomy, but, for me, at 6-2 and 200 lbs it's more of a 2-person than a 3-person. Completed set up first time in 6-8 minutes with no instructions (and, no, none are provided). Like the dual entry doors. Good ventilation. Only wish Marmot made a footprint to go along with this product. Really sweet, though.
By SJR from Stow, Ohio on 05/07/2009 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fly Works Well, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The tent was easy to up and and should vent like crazy. The tent doesn't look like the picture. It looks more like a limelight but all mesh. The pack size is off as well. It packs down to the same size as a Limelight. Very happy with the tent.
