By Slacker from Corpus Christi, Texas on 08/20/2009 Cons: Causes Blisters, Strap Chafes, Wear Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these and some NB 92o water shoes for extended warm weather adventure travel that included bouldering, scrambling, boating, cycle touring and trekking. On a 2 night trek into a mountainous, tropical coastal area, I had to travel extra light. The Tevas were the only footwear I brought along. Long story short, a bulky, misaligned seam on the middle strap ate a hole in my left instep over the course of about 20 hours of wear (spread over 3 days). I ended up leaving them at a youth camp and walking out barefoot, not even bothering to cart them home in order to get my refund from STP.
By Jadeite from Singapore on 08/06/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable Cons: Strap Chafes, Strap too short Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If only the strap was slightly longer, then i wouldn't have to loosen it so much (shows more than half of the velcro). But otherwise, great fitting & i like the toe guard.
By Brian from Kansas on 08/06/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Good Arch Support, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The shoe is comfortable. It has arch support which is a must and it has a durable sole. The Teva products do tend to run a half size small. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 but I ordered a size 10 and it fits just right...
By blurnr from Alice, Texas on 08/06/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Good Arch Support, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Casual, Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have worn the sandals on the beaches of South Texas, fishing in the surf and wade-fishing in the bays, mowing the grass and working on stuff around the house. The toe bumper provides the added protection I need and want so as to not have the big toe stubbed or injured.
Comfy but lacking total toe protection By Dick from 12856 on 08/05/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Good Arch Support, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Alternative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only issue with these sandals is the toe protection. For raft guiding - a better choice is the full toe protection like Keen. Good traction with the Teva's and very comfortable.
By XTerroBrando from Temecula, CA on 07/31/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Good Arch Support, Lightweight, Stylish, Technical Best Uses: Active All-Terrain Sports, At The Beach, Casual Wear, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Okay, I have 15 pairs of Tevas, so obviously I'm a huge fan. But I've owned Keens, Montrail, North Face, you name it. All of the shoes are for specific outdoor activities (save for one pair of casual thongs and a pair of "recovery" shoes) from trail running to fishing and creek racing. I have 3 pairs of these Karnali's (2 for back up). They are tough, loaded with technical features, and supremely comfortable for MY foot. These are the most versatile Tevas I've ever owned. The adjustable wraptor+buckle design allows you to tighten-up when the hike or PWC ride gets really extreme. The drainage design works supremely, and no stinky feet. I'm missing a toenail from the old days before sandals had toe protection.
I get more comments on these "shandals" than anything else I own. The only thing I haven't done in these is trail-run in the snow. For that I choose the Wraptor Mid eVents. Kudos to Teva...again!
By Kayak Mike from Mpls, MN on 07/31/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable Cons: Falls Apart in 1 week, Wear Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Outdoors Athletic Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these sandals for a paddling trip down the Grand Canyon. The first pair I purchased had defective buckles, so I exchanged them immediately. The second pair were OK at 1st, and I wore them around home and work for a week to make sure they fit well, which they did.
Once in the Canyon though, the soles began delaminating after only day. In less than a week both sandals soles had completely fallen off, leaving only a slippery plastic base that was too slick to hike in. I was VERY disappointed, and had to rely on a friends loan of some shoes to get by.
