It is not as soft and not as comfortable as the 2007. They look exactly the same, but i think they used 'green' materials which made it stiffer and itchier.

All synthetic, so no shrinking, and the toe protector design is novel and useful. The bit about draining water out through the sole is a bit of a marketing reach, IMO.

And the arch is really high, so slice an 1/8" off the excellent hard plastic shoe frame, and another 1/8" off the foam footbed, and you have a fantastic shoe, very slip resistant on wet rocks, and protects your feet well from portaging rocks.

The first day I wore them the water channels on the bed of the sandal chafed the bottoms of my feet very badly; but then my feet got sweaty and something wonderful happened...must have taking getting wet to break these in, but since then they've been wonderfully comfortable.
A huge plus for these is the big toe protector; since mine are not the nicest-looking and I'm a bit self-conscious about them these sandals let me go out in public without them showing, while still allowing my feet to breathe.
I haven't worn any other footwear since breaking these in (as they don't violate dress code where I work). A very nice pair of sandals, my mother in law wants one now too :)
