By accomplish from Fairfax, VA on 07/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Leightweight, Non-slip sole Cons: Should improve stability Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Gravel small rocks, Slightly rugged off-road Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've used the X-1 off-road on a slightly hilly, muddy, stumpy trail with small rocks and gravel. I've used them while lifting weights. They're comfortable and a worthwhile purchase. I would improve heal/ankle stablity.
Seems to be as advertised. By Havoc from Bakersfield, Ca on 07/21/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They are light and comfortable. By Almost barefoot hiker from Minneapolis on 07/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Cons: Limited flex, Thick heel Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Trail running, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe is perfect for those wanting a thinner sole in the fore foot, and something rugged and lightweight for jogging rough trails. I'm returning them because I prefer less padding and less shock absorption all around (I'd hike barefoot if glass didn't exist). But for their claimed function, I doubt you can find better. They're one of the lightest trail runners on the market. However, if you like to feel the ground on which you're walking, avoid these.
By xophrame from UTopia on 06/22/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just ran the 'Ragnar' leg (4 miles of steep uphill, high altitude, HOT dirt road) of the Ragnar/Wasatch Back Relay (182 miles, 12 people, 2 days) and they did what I wanted - no slipping, no blisters, no distractions. If I would have worn my street running shoes it would have been a LOT more work. My feet are more narrow (for a 6'2" guy) so keep that in mind.
By DJ from Chapel Hill, NC on 06/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Very lightweight Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these shoes for jogging and every day wear. They are incredibly light and very comfortable right out of the box. I changed the insoles just to improve arch support. i wear these daily and love them (so much I ordered a second pair!).
