By The Dog Walker from Albany, NY on 07/10/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Dog walking, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this shoe. I walk 5 miles a day and although they only last (soles) for approximately 6 months before I need to get another pair, they are the most comfortable shoes I've worn walking. I usually wear a size 7 and have to order a 7-1/2 in this shoe for a perfect fit.

Very supportive and stable; great for hiking. Just tried em out this weekend: fantastic!
By mrscatrogers from jacksonville, fl on 07/02/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: There seems to be a size difference in the 2007 to 2008. The 2007 toe box seemed somewhat cramped but the 2008 felt roomy, almost too big. The arch of the shoe seemed to start too proximal to the heel causing arch strain [...]. I have neither flat feet nor high arches. I'm sure these are great trail shoes for some--they received rave reviews in runners world. It is very difficult to get trail runners here in Florida so it's definately a gamble when trying a new brand especially via online purchasing.
By A runner in the West from Montana on 07/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Trail running Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I must have owned about a half dozen pairs of these shoes over the years. I use them primarily for trail running and I love them. I have not bought another pair of running shoes since I discovered them. There fit is very adjustable. I have a wide toe box and the rest of my foot is slightly narrow. They fit great!

By MB from Glastonbury, CT on 04/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The three qualities I was looking for in the trail running show were 1) trail running shoe, 2) Montrail brand, 3) totally synthetic materials (I am vegan). This was one of only two Montrail trail running shoes that were synthetic, and the other one didn't come in my size. So, I was kind of limited and would have prefered a higher quality montrail shoe. however, this does seem to be working out fine. By the way, they fit fine b/c I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, and I ordered a wider shoe than I normally wear. Make sure to do the same!
By Traveler from Carlisle, MA on 04/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've got multiple pairs of Hardrocks now. The fit is great and I'm even thinking of using my older pair as everyday shoes.
Would not buy anyother shoe By MrsWillHike from Claremont, CA on 04/02/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My foot doctor told me to try these after a tendon tear. The shoes have been the best investment over the last 4 years. Each type of Montrail supports different foot issues (see their website for details). I have tried other montails but this has the best support for my foot than the other types of montrail shoes.
