Good arch support. They didn't really need breaking in. So far, I haven't tried hiking in them, but have worn them around town in the rain. My feet haven't gotten wet since I got them. My feet used to slosh around in my shoes during heavy rain. These shoes are well worth buying.

This too was too small so had to jump to a 10.5. This problem is because of the design of the toe box. The hard rubber (which is good because it wears well) jams your toes together. After returning the first pair and getting a whole size larger they seem to be great shoes (This is the second pair of Montrails that I have bought)

I wear a 9 1/2 in all other shoes and need a 10 in their shoe. Otherwise it's all good.

it's a real dissapointment that manufactures still aren't using the same sizing in shoe construction.
They were just too small over all and had to return them. Too bad there wasn't any size 15. Montrail gives the shoes a nice toe box.
