Very nice hiking shoe-great arch support By Hiking fool from Appleton, Wisconsin on 01/01/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like these shoes. Although they are a little big (I ordered my regular size), they fit well with thick hiking socks. The arch support is the best I've ever had with a hiking boot or shoe. Very nice!
By Sal from Berkshire Hills, Western Massachusetts on 12/31/2008 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot, Waterproof Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain, Snowy Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the first time I have ordered shoes from a catalog. They are great! The description said they ran small. I wear an 8 1/2 or 9 and ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. They really, really get the job done. Excellent traction, waterproof, and warm enough without being clunky. Just walked four miles of hills on snowy roads and they performed really well.
By Olive Oil from Amman, Jordan on 12/13/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the first time I buy a Montrail product. The gore-tex feature, comfort and good soles prevailed over the one design feature I didn't like too much: the top is a little too fluffy for me. I'm a 7.5 medium and bought a size 8, which feels like a 7.5. It's just perfect.
By karen from state college, pa on 12/12/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great for walking the dog on paved, gravel and grass surfaces. they keep my feet warm and dry with my smartwool socks. The best support I've found. Thanks
This is my second pair and I lov'em By Minnesota Walker from St Paul Minnesota on 12/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these everyday for work and have not experienced any problems or discomforts. I'm on my feet all day on concrete or outside in all weather conditions. This is my second pair of Montrail hiking shoes and I think I've found my brand for life. I've also used them for day hiking as well as backpacking and have been very happy with the performance. This particular style runs about a 1/2 size smaller than my other style Montrail hiking shoes.
By St. Joe Girl from Saint Joseph MI on 11/15/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Having tried 3 other hiking shoes without success, wasn't expecting these to fit perfect...but they do! The other hikers crowded my toes uncomfortably, so I ordered up one size. They fit my feet perfectly, so comfortable, supportive, dry and no break-in. I also have bunions, which usually ache in new shoes of any sort, but not with these.
By buttercup from Mount Gretna, PA on 11/14/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought a pair of these 5 years ago in Maine for [$] because they fit so well and were so comfortable. They finally wore out this year. It's hard to find shoes that really hug your foot. This pair doesn't fit quite as well as my first pair, but I still love them. The web site says to order up and I'm a 7 1/2 so I ordered an 8, but they were too big. I had to return them for my regular size which fit just right.

So far, I heartily agree.
The best trail hiking shoe ever! By Hiking Across America from Wyoming on 10/23/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Primitive Trail Hiker, Wilderness Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The first hiking shoe I have found that fits my foot perfectly without getting blisters on my hikes. So far they have hiked through a snow storm keeping my feet completely dry and cozy warm. They have performed great in muddy/grassy areas as well as rocky terrain hikes. My feet feel very stable on any surface I have hiked thus far. Thanks Montrail!
