I wouldn't buy this again. By gmo from Grand Junction, CO on 11/11/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: From the time I took this compass out of the box I could not get it to read properly. I sent it back because it was a waste of money.

Orienteering racer doesn't like this one By Dee from Saint John, New Brunswick on 09/23/2009 Pros: Accurate, Simple Controls Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The compass itself seems like it's constructed great. However, within seconds I realized it's not for me. I do a lot of orienteering/adventure races where the compass is hanging from my neck while running. The dial moves much too easily and you'd lose your bearing!!
I will not use this and would return it if it didn't cost so much to do so.

By regular customer from Charlottesville VA on 08/18/2009 Describe Yourself: Outdoor Enthusiast Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The magnetic needle and its supporting pin were easily dislodged and can't be repositioned. The compass is now useless.
I probably wouldn't rely on this compas By Gman from Phoenix, Arizona on 07/25/2009 Cons: Flimsy, Inaccurate, Needle not dampened Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Day Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Professional Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I teach land navigation and have used many different compasses. Although the design appears to be much like some of the moderately expensive ones, the magnetic needle is not dampened in liquid. The needle sticks and it does not immediately settle on magnetic north. I bought a few of these compasses because of the discounted price, however, I am not sure they will ever be used because I would not rely on its accuracy. It does have many features like coordinate scalem and declination adjustment but it is easily moved because it is not controlled by a set screw. I would not recommend this for serious orienteering/land navigation.

By Madsciencechik from KY on 02/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Professional Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: While the pointer does point to magnetic North, the degree ring distorts the pointer placement away from magnetic North, such that an accurate degree reading cannot be taken.
