By Riding it up in CO from Denver, CO on 10/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this jacket for a longish bike commute (+10 miles each way). This jacket is good because (in the green) it's highly visible, the sleeves are actually long enough to cover my wrists, and there are enough pockets that it's no problem find a place for my ipod (and listen to This American Life).
Right now it's a little early for this jacket, I think. The temps have been between 50-60; I think I'll probably wait to use it when it drops another ten degrees. I'm just a tad bit over-warm on arrival. Perhaps I'll try a lighter base layer.
For walking around outside, it's great. It's stylish, wicks water without any trouble, and the fleece inside is extremely comfy. I would most definitely recommend it.
Awesome shell for almost all seasons By I like gear from Concord, MA on 05/28/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket is so versitle, it great for almost every season except the heat of a mid summers day. It's style is nice enough that it is not only good for a cool morning hike, but also to keep you warm on a cool summer evening out after getting sun kissed while kayaking that day.

Surprisingly wonderful jacket By Here Now from Sierra Nevadas, CA on 12/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When my Backstage arrived my initial response was that it was a bit flimsy and might wrinkle easily. I put it through the wash, took it for a "test drive".... and am incredibly happy with it. I think the extra-lightweight fabrics that are coming out now are a bit confusing to the general public ~ we've come to equate weight with warmth... that's simply not so anymore. This jacket is actually toasty (while it's not for extreme weather, I'd suggest it for active sports and casual wear in temps above 20 degrees). The soft gaiters built into the wrists and slightly longer sleeves keep my hands and arms warm even when my gloves are off (and they don't feel "too long", even though I'm 5'4"). The toggle pull at the back of the neck makes the neckline completely adjustable. It has plenty of pockets for various uses ~ VERY user-friendly. I layered under this jacket and found it very warm and comfortable. One thing that may be irritating to some ( yes, you Virgos out there!) is that the fabric "puckers" slightly along the seams ~ I was put off by this at first but have come to realize it's a result of the ultra-light outer fabric being sealed to something slightly heavier behind it. This jacket is beautifully made, well thought-out, and will be useful throughout the year. AND it's very good-looking on.

Between a soft and a hard shell By pixelchix from grover beach, ca on 12/15/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is very comfortable...the lining is super soft, and unlike other true softshells, feels great against the skin. The lining is more like a thin layer of faux fur than fleece, but it doesn't look bad. The outer fabric is not thick and stiff like most softshells...it feels more like a hard shell with a softer nap to it than a true hardshell. Not sure yet how warm the jacket is going to be given it's light, thin nature.
My one big con with the jacket is the sleeve length...the shell comes down a good inch or two past the inner cuff, making it hard to tuck under if you wanted it shorter. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it may be for others.
This is NOT a softshell jacket!! By RR from San Jose, Ca on 05/03/2008 Cons: Cheap construction feel. Best Uses: I would not use it Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is basically a hardshell with some sort of a quasi-fleece liner on the inside. Did not feel much warmer than a regular fleece jacket. construction felt cheap and not very durable. definitely returning this one.
