Order much larger than usual size!
By KathrynVerified Reviewer from Maryland on 01/28/2008
Chest Size:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I ordered this in a 4, as I usually wear a 2/XS and that was the smallest they had. It was tiny on me; particularly the arm hole openings (and I have really skinny arms), and the length. I like the color and styling, so I'm going to try ordering a larger size, an in fact am considering going for an 8 rather than a 6 because I want to be able to wear this as sun protection over tank tops and such.

Comments:
Very practical shirt, except for the exceptionally long sleeves. However, they can be folded back, or unbuttoned and rolled up to elbow length. The green is a beautiful color. Love the raglan sleeve/shoulder design - great for those with broad shoulders. Also like the tapered waist. Not too tapered, just right. Very attractive. I bought the size 14, after trying the 12 (my usual size), and finding it a bit too tight across the chest. But this happens to me a lot, and I have noticed that tight is in style these days; I just happen to personally prefer a looser fit. I think the shirt is sized correctly. The only difference between this one and the Compass shirt is that this model lacks the 3X dry finish, which makes the fabric slightly softer, giving the fabric a very nice drape and feel. All in all, great for work, travel in all climes, and every day. I won't wear for backpacking, because it would get terribly dirty, and I want to save it for "good" use. I have other shirts I use for that, like the ex officio baja lite, which looks nasty by now, is not as all flattering, but is great for sun protection, etc. However, I'm sure the Transit would excel for that use as well, if you didn't care about keeping it clean. All in all, very pleased with the purchase.
