Hot and sticky in Humid climates! By displaced yankee from San Antonio, TX on 06/27/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It looks and feels great, but within a few minutes of wearing it I was sweating and the shirt was sticking to me and making me hotter. It also wrinkles very easily!
so disappointed! I should have believed the few reviewers that did not like it. Do NOT buy for humid climates
Might work for a wind shirt/sun prtector for cycling on cooler days.R.Robbins and got the Medium in this. The best shirt for hot and humid is Exofficio dryflylite shirts. They are superb, comfortable and wash and dry fast and wrinkle s fall out! I am 5'7" with kinda long arms and both fit my arms and torso well.
Nice shirt for a specific purpose By Practical Lady from Pasadena, CA on 06/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Chest size runs small and it shrinks a little after washing. I'm 5'2" 35-27-34 and usually a small is plenty roomy. Just returned the small and exchanged it for medium. Is very comfortable and otherwise fits well. Very light weight fabric - great for spring hiking in the desert. Don't know how breathable the fabric is in higher humidity, but it does let air through very nicely... in a light desert breeze, it feels like bare skin in the shade. Lovely. The fabric is so fine that it doesn't seem like it will be highly durable, but the price is great so that doesn't matter too much. I'll buy this shirt again.
By Africa bound (again) from Orlando, Florida on 06/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great shirt, looks very good on. I gave it only 3 stars because it does fit a bit smaller than I had hoped, but the shirt is so well made I'm keeping it anyway. Nice details on the shirt too, wish it was available in more colors!
By Jo from Canada on 06/12/2009 Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A few friends had them for protection from sun at beach. Had to have one, love it!
By Annie Oakley from Dingmans Ferry, PA on 06/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Red wine on the white blouse at a party rinsed out with water and was ready to wear in 5 minutes. I also bought the blue which goes great at the office. When rolled up the sleeves are a bit tight for activites like paddling, but fine for around the camp.

Great Shirt for smaller builds! By Christina from New York, NY on 06/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I say it feels too small and short to stress that these shirts are best suited for smaller frames - I am 5'3" with a 36A chest and went for a Large which I found to be a perfect not fitted/not too baggy fit. This is a tailored/sporty shirt, which you could do for a very casual workplace.
I've found Columbia's colors to be brighter on Sierra than in actuality, so I'd recommend looking at Columbia's website for accuracy. The Stone looks like a dirty white, and the Light Turquoise is not nearly so bright, it's actually a very beautiful tone with a bit of sheen to the fabric. I wish they carried more colors as I would have returned the dull Stone.
As for breathability, absolutely. The fabric is incredibly soft and airy, and very very comfortable. I haven't done any hiking, but from just running around the city and hauling luggage for a mile, I can tell it's going to be good.
