By Habitat Vic from Madison, WI on 10/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very lightweight, yet durable material. Rolls up to nothing in your pack. Quite thin and cool (sort of expect it to be, with zip-off legs), so maybe not the best for late season camping. Good quality construction on the pockets and seams. I'll buy another pair when I can get a darker color (that shows less dirt).

High quality pants, great bargain By HappyTraveler from California on 09/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very high quality pair of pants, and they fit very nicely. However, I am fairly tall with a small waist - if I had the waistline indicated by the size they would have been too small. Slightly flawed, also, as elastic does not expand on one side. Regardless, very good quality for the price. I am keeping them.

Would be nice if cuff snap had multiple snaps to tighten cuff in tick country.

By Fly Fisher from Dallas, TX on 08/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Fishing, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just right for hiking in Colorado. Need the pants in the morning, but by noon the legs were unzipped and just shorts. I did have to go one size larger than normal, but now they fit great.
By tancaddis from Santa Fe, NM on 08/13/2009 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a pair of Columbia Silver Ridge cargo pants at the same time which were L-32, same size as the Challengers and the Silver Ridge were correct waist & length while the Challenger converts were both tighter in waist and shorter inseam...sort of like the Challengers were mis-labled. These convertables are great for flyfishing in backcountry where you must hike in. The full pants protect legs during hike and then zip off to shorts for wet wading. Also fine for regular hiking when it's cool in morning and hot later.
By Learning2fly from Albuquerque, NM on 07/31/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They don't feel as durable as North Face but, they are a lot lighter and very comfortable. Can't go wrong with Columbia. There is only one rear pocket, which didn't deter me at all.
