By the judge from central Illinois on 10/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Comfortable pants, and roomy, but I don't feel they are too big for their stated size. Zip-off legs seem to work fine, although the zipper is very small. I don't have long term experience with zip-off pants, so I don't know if that feature will work as well with repeated use. I like these pants very much.
My Favorite Convertible Pants By Cappsmo from Knoxville on 09/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are awesome pants. They look and feel great. I'm a strict rater and the only reason I didn't give 'em 5 stars is that for backpacking I prefer deeper pockets and the velcro pocket fasteners are small but these are great for all other purposes. I am tall and thin and ordered 36" waist when i normally wear a 34-35 so go up a little on the size. These are probably not for you if you are at all stocky. I bought a pair of these in a different color a few weeks ago and just had to have a second pair.
By Fishin' for flies from Dallas, TX on 09/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Quick drying Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Fly fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these pants! They are worth the $5 extra over the Challenger. Just wish they came in more colors for variety. How many pairs of Sage and Taupe pants should one have?
By Wooden Spoons from Knoxville, TN on 08/31/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Cons: Smallish cargo pockets, Velcro pocket closures Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 6'1", 165-170 lbs. and have a slender frame. My waist varies between 34" & 35" depending on how much beer I quaff between hikes. I ordered a 36" waist size based on reviewer's comments and they fit me perfectly and are very comfortable. I hate sissy short zip offs but these are perfect at knee length. They look great and I have had lots of compliments. While these would not be my first choice for backpacking due to the medium size pockets and small velcro closures, they are great for day hiking and casual wear. I would not recommend these for anyone with a stocky build or thick thighs. I will buy a second pair in another color if they're still available.
My favorite all-around pants. By Sundog from Rhinelander, WI on 08/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Very Durable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've still got my first 2 pair of these pants from about 10 years ago. They've been to the BWCA, Ireland, Pacific NW, Colorado, Black Hills, dinner & a movie. Comfortable, durable and look great anywhere. My older ones are now just used for construction & painting projects.
By High Country Addict from Whidbey Island, WA on 08/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Not easy to alter length Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought pairs for my son and I for High Sierra backpacking trip. Easy to remove zipoff legs over boots. Tough fabric. The available light color does show dirt very readily...would prefer darker color.
I would buy this product again By Dan from Durango, Colorado on 08/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Improve cargo pkt closure Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a quick drying comfortable hiking pant. I don't like the looks of the zip-off legs pants, but decided to give it a try. This is a great model as I don't have the usual zipper fight to get the leggings back on and the ankle zipper allows me to don/doff without removing my boots. The leggings easily fit in the cargo pockets. Fabric is soft but tough. I don't really like the hems against my thighs, but don't really focus it on it while hiking. The velcro on pockets are small and concern me, but I haven't had problems with stuff falling out. I really like the zippered front right second pocket to secure my driver's license
Pants inseam labeled incorrectly By Walker1103 from San Francisco, CA on 08/10/2009 Pros: Ankle zippers, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Cons: Inseam labeled wrong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Inseam advertised as 32", but actual measurement was 34". Rather than return then, however, I'm paying my tailor to shorten them to the correct length (I bought 3 pairs in two separate orders). Not cheap to do, since the ankle zippers have to be moved. However, I like all the other features of the pants, so I'm biting the bullet. After fixing them, the cost will come out to slightly more than original retail price for them.

These are a 2 for 1. The comfort and styke are great.
